UPDATE: I know I should start a new post but I am at work and don’t have time. I happened to go on Topix to see if there were any comments about that throwdown issue because sometimes people will shed some light on things outside of the town the event occurred in. The Town of Cheshire knows I can research. I am going to link you to the Topix thread. There is an interesting comment by “Cheshiriana” or whatever who is claiming THERE WAS A SUICIDE RECENTLY AT THE CHESHIRE JAIL. THIS IS UNCONFIRMED THIS IS THIS CHESHERIANA’S STATEMENT. I THINK THIS PERSON IS REFERRING TO THE CHESHIRE CORRECTIONAL CENTER NOT THE CHESHIRE POLICE LOCAL JAIL. I DID EMAIL THE CHIEF TO ASK FOR A CLARIFICATION.

THE CHESHIRE POLICE CHIEF EMAILED ME BACK RIGHT AWAY. THERE WAS NO SUICIDE AT THE CHESHIRE PD LOCKUP. I DID CHECK AS I ALWAYS DO TO MAKE SURE. I THANK THE CHIEF FOR HIS TIMELY RESPONSE AS ALWAYS.

When the Republicans like someone as Deegan and this Grippo everything is fine, but when it is a Democrat they can’t wait to judge and rake people over the coals and have their children, one of whom had brain cancer, have to read their childish nonsense.  Go check your facts before you start YOUR RANTS.  BTW: I AM A REGISTERED REPUBLICAN IN CHESHIRE. GO CHOKE ON YOUR ZITI YOU PHONIES!!

OH I SHOULD GO THEIR DINNER SEE WHO LOOKS LIKE THAT HAD TOO MUCH TO DRINK AND THEN CALL THE COPS AND HAVE THEM GIVE A FIELD SOBRIETY TEST. I BET THEY ALL WOULD FAIL.

I went to Boston this weekend. I had not been there in several years, in fact the last time I was there the place was a mess from that Big Dig. BOY WHAT A DIFFERENCE-HOW NICE IT IS NOW WITHOUT HAVING TO SEE THAT UGLY 1-93 SPAN RUNNING THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY.

I was supposed to go to Montreal instead of Boston with my daughter but she could not get her passport in time. I was disappointed because my son was going to join us from Toronto. Oh well I thought, we will go to Boston instead.

Everytime someone mentions Boston, I always would think about my old friend from High School, Gail. I lost touch with her approximately 30 years ago. I last saw here around 1980 when I went to visit her IN BOSTON. Our lives drifted apart, we went in different directions but I always from time to time wondered about her.

In fact, several days ago, before I was to go to Boston I tried typing her name in on White Pages. I found a person with the same first and last name that lived outside of Boston but the man’s name that was listed as being in her household had her last name. I thought boy that is so weird because this person has the exact same name and middle initial but the spouses last name is her last name.

I did not think much of it until last night. I was in the hotel and woke up around 5 a.m. and started thinking about Gail. I thought it was too bad that I would never find where she had ended up because she probably got married and I did not know her new last name.

So I went around Boston on Saturday doing some sightseeing. I was walking around Sunday with a few of my family members and they wanted to go to the Cheers Restaurant. We went there but they were not open yet-so we walked around some, went to the Public Gardens and sat out in the sun. It was REAL NICE in Boston this weekend-almost 60 degrees, both days. Go figure this in early March

Anyway, we went back to Cheers at 2 p.m. We were going to sit downstairs but the waitress told us to go upstairs into the Cheers (replica) room. They have the replica of the Cheers set and you can sit at the tables or at the bar. We went to sit down at this one table and the waitress told us to move AGAIN  to the other side of the room. I was dead tired from walking, and had just sat down so I couldn’t figure out why she was telling us to move to the other side of the room when we had sat down at an empty table.

So I am sitting there, I was tired and getting a little annoyed with my family for what seemed like hours or walking around in circles. Our food came, I started eating-then I am not kidding, I heard a female voice say-”should we sit over here”??

I RECOGNIZED THE VOICE!! I PUT UP MY HEAD TO LOOK IN THAT DIRECTION-IT WAS GAIL!!!

I couldn’t believe it-I still can’t now that I am home from Boston. I HAD NOT HEARD HER VOICE IN OVER 30 YEARS AND I INSTANTLY RECOGNIZED IT!! I called out-Gail-Gail-she looked at me-I said its Cindy-SHE AND I ALMOST FELL ON THE FLOOR RIGHT THERE!! WE WERE IN SHOCK!! OH MY GOD-HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN?? SHE STILL LOOKS THE SAME!! AMAZING!!

THIS IS CALLED SYNCHRONICITY and was made popular by Carl Jung.

I cannot get over this. I spent the rest of the afternoon calling people telling them. They could not believe it!! I will tell you one thing, I felt different after this happened.  I still have tears in my eyes from this encounter-for all of the people in Boston that weekend, for her to sit at the table right next to me-WHAT ARE THE ODDS??

Several weeks ago I had been speaking to my son about a man I had worked with about 12 years ago and how good of a salesman he was. I was telling my son that I wished he was around to talk to him about his business he was starting. My son and I (that same day) went to Cheshire Coffee. It was late afternoon on a weekday. I happened to be walking out and I glanced to my right-IT WAS THIS PERSON I HAD WORKED WITH-THAT SAME PERSON. AGAIN IT HAPPENED!!

I wonder, I really do-what the meaning of these chance encounters are. It is a sign I know, especially with Gail. I feel different-I can’t explain it. But I know some of you out there do not believe in premonitions-I DO!!

They say that people who have premonitions are open minded and non judgmental. I am going to link you to a good article about Synchronicty. I really believe in meeting my old friend Gail THAT VERY MOMENT-I FELT DIFFERENT. Like maybe it is time to go back to what I was like before I got married-when you get married and have children, you sort of lose a bit of yourself. Maybe its time to get to what’s real AND THIS TOWN ISN’T IT.

It looks like some of the pages have only one paragraph on them. Is something missing? Also-over $70,000 to “fix” their problems? Let us see what happens. In a way, deep down, I really feel sorry for some of the people on this police department. I said this years ago there looks like there is no direction here and that is basically what the IMCA said for $5,000. We basically have a good police department with a lot of potential. I hope this can be resolved-BUT NOT FOR $70,000!!!

Also, I did want to thank one of my FANS for his/her insightful comments. I know he/she really appreciated those videos on the four point throw techniques used by many police departments. I am going to run another one because they are so popular. When I read nasty comments I start laughing believe it or not. I mean no one wants to read comments that are directed towards themselves, I know they are directed towards me but whatever. I know Tim gets them also but it comes with the territory.

I received some calls from several residents who asked if I could get 211 to set up a counseling line over this incident. Many people I spoke with on Thursday and Friday told me they were frightened over the video  some are having nightmares and felt depressed and angered that this resident was thrown to the ground. I will be calling the Governor’s Office on Monday to see if a counseling session can be set up. This video right or wrong has upset many people including myself so a counseling session may not be a bad idea.

Anyway, in some ways this town has become more open, but in other ways not. The suspension of the Police Union Rep in Cheshire SHOULD HAVE BEEN BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL-EVEN AS A COURTESY. AND I WONDER WHO WROTE THOSE EMAILS TO THE SCHOOL. I COULD JUST IMAGINE.

I AM TAKING A BREAK FROM MY PROJECT TO POST THE VIDEO FROM THE NEW HAVEN REGISTER ON THIS CPD TAKEDOWN SITUATION.THIS VIDEO IS BETTER BECAUSE YOU CAN STOP THE TAPE AND ANALYZE. THE COP IS TRYING TO DIFFUSE THE SITUATION BY GRABBING THE WRISTS AND PUSHING MR. EVANS AWAY. BUT IT DOES LOOK LIKE HE IS LEANING FORWARD TO SEE THE NAME BADGE IT REALLY DOES. NEVER LEAN TOWARD A COP EVER. NEVER POINT. THAT IS CONSIDERED AGGRESSION LIKE IT OR NOT. SOME PEOPLE HAVE THE HABIT OF GETTING CLOSE WHEN THEY TALK TO YOU. IN AN ARGUMENT, THAT IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND COULD BE CONSIDERED AN IMMEDIATE THREAT. IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO HAVE A BODY LANGUAGE EXPERT ANALYZE THIS TAPE.  IT IS VERY FRIGHTENING TO HAVE SOMEONE LEAN TOWARDS YOU IN A VOLATILE SITUATION.

I DID SPEAK TO LT. MARKELLA ON FRIDAY MORNING AND ASKED HIM IF THIS PERSON WAS ALLEGEDLY SO VERBALLY ABUSIVE ON THE WAY TO THE LOCKUP, WHY WASN’T HE LEFT IN HANDCUFFS IN THE CAGE.

LT. MARKELLA SAID THAT UNLESS THE PERSON WAS VIOLENT THE HANDCUFFS ARE TAKEN OFF BEFORE ENTERING THE CAGE AREA. I REALLY BELIEVE THIS PERSON OR ANY PERSON SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN WALKING AROUND IN THE LOCKUP AS FREELY AS HE WAS. COULD HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM. LT. MARKELLA SAID THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW HE WOULD BEHAVE WELL THEN, HANDCUFF HIM OUTSIDE OF THE CAGE AND ESCORT HIM BY HIS ARM TO THE BATHROOM.

I am running this body language video. It you look at that and then review the tape you can see there is confrontation. Both men are standing toe to toe in directly across from each other which with men MEANS CONFRONTATION. The officer is trying to push him away because he feels uncomfortable. However, when the video starts, the NH Register video clearly shows Mr. Evans is in control. HE opens the door to the cage and walks IN FRONT of the officer. The officer has lost control-there is no respect. You do see the officer get defensive in his body language by putting his hands on his hip but at this time it is out of control. When the officer is gently pushing Mr. Evans away from him THAT WAS HIS SIGNAL TO BACK OFF AND THAT IS WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO DIFFUSE THE SITUATION.

WHAT IS EVEN SADDER IS THAT THE NASTY COMMENTERS HAVE CRAWLED OUT OF THE WOODWORK AGAIN AS IF THIS ISSUE ISN’T BAD ENOUGH.

OK, I just saw the tape on the Record Journal showing the interaction if you will with the Cheshire Police Department. I asked a few people what they thought about it. Now there is no sound so we can’t hear what is being said. It does seem like Mr. Evans is upset but let’s face it-who is in a good mood when you go to the police lockup. It seems that Mr. Evans does seem to step towards the Officer to make a point and the Officer does grab his hand before it got out of hand as if to indicate stop what you are doing. Then we see the Officer raise both Mr Evans hands and another Officer comes in and they throw him down to the floor.

I must say that I give the CPD credit for at LEAST RELEASING THE VIDEO. IT WAS PROBABLY BECAUSE THE PERSON WAS HIGH PROFILE OR THAT PEOPLE WERE TALKING ABOUT IT-PROBABLY BOTH. IT REALLY MAKES YOU WONDER WHAT GOES ON IN ALL THESE POLICE LOCKUPS!!!

AND UM LET’S NOT HEAR FROM “I AM STILL A VIRGIN AT 65″  THERE WHO NEVER DOES ANYTHING WRONG ABOUT HOW PERFECT HE IS AND HOW WRONG EVERYONE ELSE IS BECAUSE HE HAS NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE POLICE. YOU HAVE  PROBLEM IT IS ABOVE YOUR FOREHEAD!!!

It appears Mr. Evans hits his head on the chair which gets conveniently REMOVED later on in the video. Also let’s wipe up that BLOOD FAST TOO!! OH MY GOD!! Oh I guess the CPD will have to get a new chair with the Gift Account!!

I would say it was 50-50. This man obviously does not know how to deal with police because he is a law abiding citizen. I have had many interactions with the Police, mostly in my reporter days. When a cop approached me, I always remained very still. I really believe it was a little too much force. I mean it does appear when the Officer pulls up his hands over Mr. Evans head that he does sort of pull back, but THAT IS A NORMAL REFLEX. Does Officer B know how to do the four point throw?? I guess I will have to run the video again. This four point throw removes the “danger” WITHOUT having to cause injury.

I really feel sorry for this man-because I know-the Police overreact many times. If and when you have to go to the police station-SAY AND DO NOTHING. I mean I will be honest, I was discussing a political issue with someone recently and the  PERSON STEPPED TOWARDS ME-I FELT THREATENED AND TOLD HIM TO BACK OFF.

I sincerely believe the Officer should have initiated the four point throw which I will show you again. This does not injure the person and resolves the issue. The piling on-was UNNECESSARY!!!

The bottom line with the CPD-don’t go out after 11 p.m or you are considered DRUNK. I DO BELIEVE THE STATEMENT MR. EVANS MADE TO THE HERALD. I BELIEVE EVERY WORD OF IT. THESE COPS ARE TOLD TO LOOK FOR MOTOR VEHICLE VIOLATORS AND DRUNKS!!!

ALSO DON’T EVER IF POSSIBLE TAKE A FIELD SOBRIETY TEST. THEY SUPPOSEDLY ARE NOT ACCURATE. IF HE FAILED THE FIELD SOBRIETY WHAT ABOUT THE BREATHYZER??? WHERE ARE THOSE RESULTS OR ARE THEY INCONCLUSIVE?? IS THIS THROWDOWN A BUILDUP OF QUESTIONS SOMEONE DID NOT LIKE??

If you don’t like what someone is saying to your face-GET ANOTHER PROFESSION. MY HUSBAND WHO HAS TO HAVE PEOPLE ARRESTED FOR NOT PAYING THEIR EMPLOYER TAX TO THE UNEMPLOYMENT FUND-GETS SWORN AT AND THREATENED QUITE FREQUENTLY. HE DOESN’T THROW PEOPLE TO THE GROUND!!! HE CAN’T. HE WILL LOSE HIS JOB!!!

This Officer better learn that is NOT A SAFE WAY to take someone down. HE COULD HAVE BEEN EASILY INJURED. When the Officer grabs both arms and puts them up in the air he exposes his MOST DELICATE AREAS-POW!!! YEP!!! POW RIGHT IN THE OLD JEWELS.

You can see this man is not a criminal and this police officer is not used to taking people down. CRIPES FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY DO IT CORRECTLY. NEED TO LEARN SOME STREET FIGHTING TECHNIQUES MY MAN!!!

UPDATE: On Wednesday morning, before I went to work, I stopped by the Cheshire Town Hall. I ran into the Town  Manager and the Police Chief. I asked straight up about the alleged throwdown incident and this ICMA report. The Town Manager told me the ICMA report on the Cheshire Police Department WILL BE RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC ON FRIDAY. Also, the Police Chief told me he is making a statement to the Cheshire Herald about this alleged DWI throwdown incident involving a former Democratic candidate for the Town Council. I believe he also stated the lockup tape will be released to the Meriden Record Journal. He said his officers showed a lot of restraint. Well, hopefully the tape will reveal all of this.

It is times as this that I am glad I did Underground Town Hall and that I was a reporter when I was younger. I don’t care what you think-she wants attention or whatever-I DO WANT ATTENTION AND I HAVE AN EGO-THAT IS NORMAL AND HEALTHY-BUT I FIRMLY BELIEVE IN THE PEOPLES RIGHT TO KNOW. THAT IS WHY DID UTH AND WAS A REPORTER!!

I think all the talk and the publicity especially about this alleged incident at the police station last week forced the town of Cheshire’s hand and I AM HAPPY ABOUT IT. GOOD!! GET IT OUT IN THE OPEN. IF THEY DID NOTHING WRONG-THEY SHOULD NOT HESITATE TO RELEASE THE TAPE AND SPEAK OUT IN PUBLIC ABOUT IT. THE MORE SECRETIVE THEY ARE-THE MORE PEOPLE BECOME SUSPICIOUS.

As you know from my last post, the Meriden Record Journal filed an FOI request to see the lockup tape of the ALLEGED DWI and ALLEGED THROWDOWN INCIDENT. I have also filed a request with FOI. I hope YOU will file one also. I would also like to see this ICMA report before it ends up looking like Swiss cheese.

I was going to go up to the Town Hall before that ICMA meeting started and plant my tape recorder under one of  the seats but then I found out that was considered “eavesdropping” which in Connecticut is a Class D Felony, so I sort of lost interest after that. BUT, if you are out in the PUBLIC  parking lot-I CAN ROLL DOWN MY WINDOW AND LISTEN!!! HE HA!!

I am sure that surveillance tape will do a disappearing act-ten get you one it will now that the powers that run Cheshire know about the FOI request. And as far as the president of the Cheshire Police Union being  SUPPOSEDLY BEING suspended as reported by Tim White who does have more access to info such as this as I do, remember I am just a resident-all I can say: to paraphrase Johnny Cochran: “IF THE DESCRIPTION FITS YOU CAN NOT ACQUIT.

Now some of you wanted to know what “interfering with an officer” means.

Can a Person Be Charged With Resisting or Obstructing a Police Officer Without the Use of Physical Force?

Yes.  Many state laws only indicate that a person may be charged as long as they “resist” or “obstruct” a police officer who is on the job.  As a result, most courts interpret such words broadly, allowing for any type of interference with police work.

How Does a Court Determine if Non-physical Interference Constitutes Resisting or Obstructing a Police Officer?

First, courts will interpret their state laws on resisting or obstructing police officers to determine whether physical force is a requirement for the crime.  In many instances, laws that use words like, “obstruct,” “resist,” “abuse,” “interfere,” or “oppose,” are generally considered to include both physical and non-physical interference.  In other words, unless a state law actually says resisting or obstructing an officer needs physical force, most courts won’t require it.

Second, courts will look into the facts of the case.  Although physical force is the easiest way to show someone was resisting or obstructing a police officer, it’s not the only means of proof.  There are many other ways to resist or obstruct a police officer without having to lay even one finger.  As long as the facts show a good amount of interference with police, it’s still possible to be charged with resisting or obstructing a police officer.

What are Some Examples of Non-physical Interference Charged as Resisting or Obstructing a Police Officer?

The following examples come from actual cases where resisting or obstructing a police officer was found:

• Questioning an officer’s authority (OMG I DO THIS ALL THE TIME).
• Giving an officer false information
• Using profanity directed at an officer
• Advise or incite others in their dealings with an officer
• Telling an Officer you are Cindy Kleist.

Refusing to accept a parking ticket or speeding citation

Asking for an officers name and then  getting slammed to the floor.

As you can see, UTH is still going. Apparently my blog was scheduled to be auto renewed on Feb. 27th. I guess they give you a few weeks to think it over so to speak. I actually had someone that has my password to my webhoster tell me they wanted to renew it even if I didn’t. This is very painful-it is like being in the electric chair and not getting enough juice. I started having third and fourth thoughts about ending the blog after what happened to a certain person in town this past Thursday. I did speak to the person by phone-the conversation was confidential and will remain so.

However, I feel REALLY BAD for this person.  WHAT WAS TOLD TO ME WAS SHOCKING!! AND I AM NOT EXAGGERATING.

This is disgusting and of course our lame-o Town Council and people who run this town won’t do a thing about it!! They will try to sweep it under the rug. Oh, I can’t tell you how awful I feel about this situation. UNBELIEVABLE!!

UNDERGROUND TOWN HALL HAS LEARNED THE MERIDEN RECORD JOURNAL HAS FILED A FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST IN ORDER TO OBTAIN THE LOCKUP TAPE AT THE CHESHIRE POLICE DEPARTMENT.

Well, as we always hear from authority: “if you did not do anything wrong, you have nothing to fear.”

EXACTLY-TURN THE TABLES-IF NOTHING WRONG HAPPENED THEN LET’S GO TO THE VIDEOTAPE!!!

I MAY extend UTH for a month just to follow this story. I will have to see. If I were the Town of Cheshire, I would release the tape ASAP!!!

UPDATE: I DID SPEAK WITH LT. MARKELLA OF THE CHESHIRE POLICE DEPARTMENT ABOUT THIS ISSUE. NOTHING THAT WAS TOLD TO ME WAS REVEALED. I ASKED A GENERIC QUESTION ABOUT BREATHALYZERS WHICH I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. I DO TRUST LT. MARKELLA HE IS AN HONEST MAN WHO CARRIES HIMSELF WITH DIGNITY AND CLASS.  I TOLD HIM THAT I WOULD HOPE HE WOULD POINT OUT A DISCREPANCY IF ONE WERE MADE AND HE ASSURED ME HE WOULD. I HOLD HIM TO HIS WORD.

THE CHESHIRE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE MOST PART HAVE PEOPLE WHO ARE HONEST AND HARDWORKING. I HAVE HAD MY ISSUES BUT I WAS ALWAYS TREATED OK BY THEM AND BELIEVE ME I AM A PAIN IN THE ASS SOMETIMES BUT IT WAS ALL WELL MEANING AND THEY NEED TO UNDERSTAND I ALWAYS LOOK OUT FOR MY BEST INTERESTS.  BUT IF I BELIEVE SOMETHING IS WRONG I WILL QUESTION AS YOU SHOULD ALSO. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHO IT IS, IF SOMETHING IS WRONG IT IS WRONG. IF IT IS RIGHT THEN IT IS RIGHT. ENOUGH SAID.

FACTS: KANSAS IS APPROXIMATELY 83,000 SQUARE MILES IN AREA. CONNECTICUT IS A LITTLE OVER 5,000 SQUARE MILES.

CONNECTICUT IS 100 MILES LONG—KANSAS IS 400 MILES LONG.

TO PUT THAT INTO PERSPECTIVE, FROM CHESHIRE CT TO DOWNTOWN MONTREAL QUEBEC CANADA IS APPROXIMATELY 400 MILES!!

OF COURSE I WANT ATTENTION YOU ASS!! YOU WANT IT TOO-EVERYONE WANTS ATTENTION-SOME ARE BETTER THAN OTHERS AT GETTING IT!!

I did this blog to inform-but I also did it to SHOW OFF AND ANNOY YOU-AND GUESS WHAT??

IT WORKED!! SO THERE!! NOW SHUT UP!!

Now to get back to business, years ago there was a sort of assisted living facility in Bridgeport called 3030 Park, aptly named because it was located on Park Avenue.  3030 was around since I was in high school ( and that was ages ago). The facility which was owned by the Methodists (now you get my point here), fell into financial difficulty and was bought out by the Freshwater Group.

The people who lived at 3030 would reside in their “apartments” so to speak. But after they died, the “apartment” would be turned back over to the Methodists.

I don’t know if this is what goes on at Elim Park with the apartments or assisted living aspect of it. I know some of the facility is skilled nursing, but the gentleman in the article below seemed to feel these apartments with the assisted living were TAXABLE.

Look, again it is not personal but I know the SOME OF YOU will always think otherwise-but the town of Cheshire NEEDS THIS TAX MONEY. The money needs to be given to the town, even if the town sets up a PILOT as they did with the Legionaries of Christ where the State pays the town a percentage of the value of the property after it was deemed an educational facility.

Elim Park is already paying “taxes” if you will but NOT TO THE TOWN. This money needs to be given to the TOWN and the TOWN should then be able to dole it out as needed.

But here is an interesting case: Legions of Christ v Town of Mt. Pleasant. The original decision by the Supreme Court of New York in 2001 (remember in New York, the Supreme Court IS THE LOWER COURT), stated that a “business” of a religious organization IS taxable. An appellate court REVERSED this decision and sent it back for further review.

There was a meeting conducted by the Bridgeport Economic Development Association to discuss the future of 3030 Park and the possibility of making this facility a PILOT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) whereas the City would be able to collect some money from  the State for the facility.

The facility was non profit because of its religious affiliations.

I did find the minutes of this meeting. I am providing a link here-what is important is the opinion of one of the committee members who says “all housing MUST pay taxes under Title 12.”

I know the big talk around Cheshire is this ICMA report on the Cheshire Police Department. Hopefully, Town Council person Tim White will let us in on the skinny if he can. Most of the discussion took place in executive session (if not all of it).

I JUST READ TIM WHITES BLOG ON THE POLICE UNION CONTRACT. THE FIRST YEAR THEY GET NO RAISE!!   THE SECOND YEAR 2.o PERCENT.

IT REALLY IS UP TO THIS TEACHERS UNION IN CHESHIRE TO TAKE THE HINT!!! AS FAR AS THE DISPATCHERS GO-THEY NEED A GOOD CONTRACT AND A GOOD RAISE. WE CAN’T HAVE PEOPLE OPERATING THE DISPATCH THAT ARE NOT DISPATCHERS THAT DON’T KNOW HOW TO OPERATE EQUIPMENT. DO THE FIVE TOWN COUNCIL MEMBERS THAT VOTED AGAINST THEIR CONTRACT  GET MY DRIFT?? THAT IS ALL I WILL SAY ABOUT THAT!!

I am in the waning days of Underground Town Hall. I did export all of my files and did a screenshot. I will  miss Underground Town Hall, but I am moving on so that is how it is. I know now, this is the right time to let go. It just wasn’t before.

I thank all of my readers for their support. I am going to Kansas in a few months,  and I just found out that Kansas State will be freezing salaries among staff. Now, if this is happening here at a Top 10 university, I don’t see why the Union for the Cheshire Teachers can’t do the same.

In the spirit of that Sunlight website, I did come across a site that lists the top research Universities in the nation and their average Professor salaries. UCONN is fairly high up on the list with the average  research professor making approximately $113,000 a year. Kansas State is nearly at the bottom with the average salary hovering around $96,000 a year.

OMG-I know two “professors” if you will, at community colleges that MADE $10,000 a year MORE THAT THE AVERAGE  RESEARCH PROF AT K-STATE. AND K-STATE IS RANKED SIXTH IN THE NATION AND HAS HAD APPROXIMATELY 42 Rhode Scholars. The only two schools that have had MORE are YALE AND HARVARD!!

Also since 1986, Kansas State ranks first nationally among state universities in its total of Rhodes, Marshall, Truman, Goldwater, and Udall scholars.

All I can say to those nasty commenters-you couldn’t get into the MEN’S ROOM AT KANSAS STATE!!

It is stories like the one I READ IN THE RECORD JOURNAL  ON FRIDAY that make me think twice about ending Underground Town Hall. It involves a former Town Council Candidate who was arrested for ALLEGEDLY driving while inxicated.

I am NOT  going to name this person. YOU ALL KNOW WHO IT IS. Remember, there are two sides to every story. I DO NOT DO NOT CONDONE DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED. NEVER EVER EVER. BUT WE NEED TO GIVE THIS PERSON A CHANCE.  HE IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. THE POLICE GET JACKED UP AND GO OVERBOARD SOMETIME. AND SOMETIMES THE POLICE CAN BE DOWNRIGHT NASTY. GUESS WHAT-SO AM I.

I KNOW THE GAMES THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THIS TOWN PLAY. HELEN KELLER COULD SEE HOW THEY TRY TO CONTROL PEOPLE THEY DON’T LIKE AND I AM S ORRY I INSULTED HELEN KELLER.

BELIEVE ME, I DO. SO NOW ALL THE DO GOODERS WHO NEVER DO ANYTHING WRONG WILL MAKE SURE THEY CONTINUE TO MAKE THIS PERSONS LIFE MISERABLE.  THEY WILL RAKE THIS GUY MERCILESSLY. IF IT WERE THE TOWN MANAGER OR SOME HIGHER UP WOULD WE HAVE KNOWN ABOUT IT??  AS BOB FROM BOB’S DISCOUNT FURNITURE WOULD SAY: “I DOUBT IT” !!!

Today is Friday, February 26th. On February 27th 2010 my blog will go down-at least this is what my webhoster said. I HAVE KEPT the Domain Name, that was scheduled to expire on March 11, 2010. I also exported my blog files to a folder for safe keeping. I have two people who have also exported the files just in case-so in a way Undergroundtownhall will remain alive “just sleeping.”

I WILL NOT BE POSTING ANYMORE AFTER TODAY.

OK I KNEW IT AND YOU PROBABLY DID ALSO. THAT SO CALLED 140 YEAR OLD HOT DOG FOUND NEAR CONEY ISLAND IN NEW YORK WAS A HOAX!!! I really loved doing this blog. I know I had to take some heat but that goes with the territory I guess. There are a lot of RUDE  people out there, but what can I tell you. Sometimes, I am not exactly Miss Congeniality.

I stood my ground in Cheshire and said what I had to say and was honest about it. AND I ALWAYS PUT MY NAME ON EVERYTHING. I THRIVED ON IT!! I WILL MISS IT!!

Having a blog is somewhat like owning a business. People “enter” but you never see their faces. There is no better thrill in the world than this. You create and people come to read and rely on what product you are giving to them. This product was from my heart-there was a little bit of me in it to you. Even though most of you don’t know me personally, in a way you did. I do feel bad in a way about stopping the blog because I had several loyal readers who have been hitting my blog since the OLD UTH back in 2002!!! I have been able to follow their IP addresses.

I never will know most of the people who visited this blog. I think I know the ones that didn’t like me because it seems if I were walking around in Cheshire or at the store, sometimes I would get dirty looks from some of them, I just figured those were the ones I pissed off.

WHATEVER!! IT WAS NOTHING PERSONAL. IT REALLY WASN’T.

Cheshire isn’t used to hearing or reading someone who speaks their mind. I hope this changes, but I doubt it. The problem here-NO COMMUNITY. Most of the people are from somewhere else and don’t really care. They were lured into this town by developers and real estate agents who offered a nice picture and for the most part it was true-the community is safe and pleasant and the schools are good. That was all these people cared about and the people who run this town know that.

Some things have changed-I believe Cheshire has gotten A LITTLE more open with issues. I don’t think you would have even HEARD about this issue with the Police Chief several years ago. I HOPE CHESHIRE LEARNED FROM ITS MISTAKE A FEW YEARS AGO. THINGS HAPPEN-DEAL WITH IT. NOTHING IN LIFE IS PERFECT. BRING IT OUT IN THE OPEN AS I DID ON THIS BLOG TO YOU-DISCUSS IT. STOP TREATING PEOPLE LIKE IDIOTS. STOP HIDING INFORMATION FROM THEM. IT ISN’T WORTH IT IN THE END. IT JUST BACKFIRES.

IF YOU ARE OPEN AND HONEST PEOPLE WILL RESPECT THAT-THEY MAY NOT LIKE IT OR YOU-BUT THEY WILL RESPECT THAT.

I think for me, the biggest highlight was when I was able to get the Police Department Summary Call logs without World War 3 breaking out. Now it was just matter of fact when I asked for them. Also, the Senior Tax Freeze. I saw so many people come together for a great cause. Some of these people have become my friends and I am happy for that.

This was my passion in life. I feel really sad now but I must devote my time to work. I am going to leave you with my take on this ICMA Consultant Report-I really believe the town of Cheshire needs to stop stalling and get the report out now!! WHAT DID IT SAY?? REPLACE THE POLICE CHIEF?? DEAL WITH THIS AND DISCUSS IT!! YOU MAY BE ABLE TO IRON OUT THE PROBLEM. ARE THERE REAL PROBLEMS DOWN AT 500 HIGHLAND AVENUE  OR JUST SOME DISCONTENTED PEOPLE??

A POLICE COMMISSION COULD HAVE ACCOMPLISHED THE SAME THING-BUT THE TOWN DOESN’T WANT A COMMISSION AND SOME OF MY OLD CROCHETY CRABBY READERS DON’T WANT IT EITHER BECAUSE THE ISSUES WOULD BE AIRED OUT IN THE OPEN AND WE CAN’T HAVE THAT!!

What a disservice to the men and women on this police department. They deserve to have their issues discussed with the public. The community knows what is best for its community and its police, NOT SOME WASHINGTON D.C. CONSULTANT!! The message this sends is that the Town Government doesn’t trust or thinks the community is stupid or both!!

I read the Freedom of Information guidelines on what can or cannot be released to the public as far as this ICMA report goes and for the life of me, I don’t think any of this report should be private.  It is not a health issue, or a hiring or firing or salary or promotion. It basically was generic griping. You will  read the report when the town of Cheshire gets through “prettying it up.”
