Signs on Poles AGAIN!!

Posted By Gordon

I have posted the “latest round” of signs on the telephone poles that have resurfaced AGAIN!! It is amazing as I have stated before what the powers that be in this town “don’t see.

THESE PHOTOS ARE ON THE PHOTO PAGE. CLICK ON THE PHOTO WITH YOUR CURSOR TO ENLARGE THEM.

Let’s see how long they stay up before we have to go a step further. I don’t mind signs anywhere, but again, don’t call us and a few other people and tell them they have committed an infraction when at the same time, other signs that “meet the censors approval” can stay up and up and up.

It is the same with the letter we received from the town stating we had to register something (not a car), or else be hit with a fine. DO YOUR RESEARCH and you will find out we don’t have this item. Do research before you start accusing.

P.S. Are YOUR Highbeams on???

PEACE IN 2008.

D-Day Approaches

On January 8th the Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to make a decision on the fate of the 107 acres in the North End. Will Cheshire have a Lifestyle Center complete with residential or will our wildlife friends win out and be able to live their lifestyle without interference from man?

I have had many posts on this topic, but since we are getting down to the wire, I also believe Inland Wetlands will be meeting on this topic on Wednesday, I thought I would post yet another opinion on this Lifestyle Center idea.

With 2008 approaching, I hope everyone will start fresh. Take up new ideas and new behaviors that are positive.

Now I have noticed new signs appearing on telephone polls. I will be publishing photos, and if need be, address this issue with the town. Unfortunately in Cheshire what is good for the goose isn’t good for the gander and they will be called on it.

I know it sounds petty, but like an old Billy Joel song said “We Didn’t Start the Fire.”

Here is the link to the Lifestyle Center article:

I will be busy with a client’s project, so I will try to post as much as possible this weekend to make up for the upcoming down time.

Love You All.

Dark-Skinned Slave

Posted By Cindy

“Izzo”: Italian: nickname from Sicilian izzu ‘slave’ or directly from Latin aegyptius ‘Egyptian’, or from the same word in the sense ‘dark-skinned’.

First of all, I want to thank the Cheshire “Uglification” Committee for their ugly photos. Unfortunately, one of the photos of the Playground in the Park was put in by accident.

I loved Playground in the Park. As I stated before, it sort of reminded me of the old simpler Cheshire of long ago. Not the one now with all the hoity toities and their big money show off demands. I have photos that I posted a few months back of the Playground. I hope to be able to donate them to the Library where they hopefully will display them.

I guess the old Playground had to meet its real demise, not so much to make way for the Boundless Playground, but because of insurance issues. The old insurance company would not insure Playground in the Park because they said it was unsafe.

What is wrong with our country? When we were kids, we did not worry about all these so called “safety” issues and we all lived. There were no seat belts in the cars or baby seats. Your mom or dad put you in the back and if you were really small they sat you on their lap. Of course, this really did not work because as one can see, the entire population of the United States dwindled to nearly zero because of this. NOT!!

Remember the “mom” armbelt? If your mom was driving and she had to hit the brakes hard, her right arm would spring out from beside her and literally form a barrier between you and the windshield.

The “mom” armbelt worked fine. I think driving has taken a nosedive because of all these safety devices. It was more “manly” back in the old days. I honestly don’t believe people took the risks they take now either. Cars were dangerous, but you respected that in a sense. Now everything is too smooth and too easy.

To get back to the Uglification Committee: the video they shot of West Main Street is on the video page. It is under “My Home Videos.” You must scroll down to the end to see it.

The reason for this is that Cheshire really needs to pay attention to its infrastructure which is not in good shape as one can see. We need to straighten this out before any construction goes on in the North End.

As I have said before and will say again, I don’t believe there will ever be a Lifestyle Center. Or if it is built, it will be years into the future. I think the condos will be built and then the land will be sold shortly after that. Then God knows what will be put up there.

I hope to post some more photos, some are blurry but they are viewable. In the meantime, I believe the vote on the Northend Development is scheduled for Jan. 8th.

I have some new clients I will be working on a project with so I will not be posting as much, but I hope to be at the Jan 8th Zoning meeting when they vote.

Also I hope to be posting more videos on the website. Whether we go totally private is now being debated. I will let all of you know. I may just have ads on the website, I will make a decision soon.

As far as the title of this post: that is the meaning of my maiden name. More on that later.

The Underground Town Hall will be going “underground” for good within the next two months.

I do have an extensive for members only network that I have been working on over the past several months. The members pay a fee to access this private network of artists, writers and photographers from all over the country and the world for that matter.

Stay tuned for more information.
