Cell Phone Tracking

Posted By Cindy

If a person has a cellular phone, can they be tracked? In the most recent case of the missing man from Cheshire, authorities attempted to locate the man by “pinging” his cell phone which they knew he had in his possession. Exactly how does this “pinging” or tracking work?

Here are links to a few articles that explain this and more. Some of them are dated, but I thought the information was worthwhile.

Turning Cell Phones Into Lifelines

Think I don’t know who you are when you “hit” my website–HA HA HA!! YES I DO!!! I even know what you had for dinner last night!!!

This article is several years old and is about what happens to your privacy when you “hit” a website, but it is an interesting read. Don’t worry, every time you log on, your IP address usually changes.

P.S. Soon the Underground Town Hall will be on ONE PAGE. The splash or (home) page, video and photo pages will be eliminated. All media will be in the right hand column where you now see “featured photos.”

Speaking of photos, the ones you see now of the Watch Factory Shoppes were taken this past winter by myself and my daughter. The photos of Gordon, Cindy and Cindy Kleist will be featured this June at the Cheshire Public Library. More details later.

On a serious note, I received many hits on the Rubber Sidewalks post and the post on the death of our neighbor’s son, Tim Dioses. What a tragic event.

I knew Tim since the day he was born. There were ups and downs, but over the past few years, I had a friendly relationship with Tim. He used to help me in my yard every once in a while. I was so happy that he would come and talk with me. We would discuss nature and trees. He was studying to be an arborist, so the woods in his backyard was his living classroom. I will miss looking out my window and seeing him-honestly, now, it just won’t be the same.

Cherishing Diversity

I am sure some of you have seen the latest news stories about Whites being in the minority in many counties in the United States. I read this the other day and thought I would post it for those of you who have not seen it.

The article states that some people are alarmed and are also not being made to feel welcome where they once had been welcomed. I feel sorry for people who cannot accept diversity. It is the backbone of our nation. We are a melting pot.

E Pluribus Unum, means “out of many-one.” So it really surprises me that in this day and age some people would feel threatened by statistics.

Update on Tim Dioses on Topix

CONFIRMED BY A TRUSTED NEIGHBOR–TIM DIOSES BODY WAS FOUND MONDAY. NO OTHER DETAILS AVAILABLE. REST IN PEACE.

Now let’s go to WVIT News where the big story is the state launching an investigation on Artificial Turf.

Now I will be following up on the municipal gas use. I don’t want to say anything more right now, but it is unfortunate that I do not see follow up questions being asked by SOME of our representatives.

Also, I hope the town government understands what I might be driving at (no pun intended) with this subject. I will be following up on this with a few phone calls.

P.S. You all know what a Skeleton Key is right? Well, do you know what a Skeleton password is? Of course some of you do, and so do I. More on this soon.

People are asking about Tim Dioses. There are unofficial rumors, not good, on Topix–but I cannot confirm so I will not print anything because this information could be incorrect.

Now, there is also an interesting story about Southington officials worrying about traffic from the proposed W/S Development in Cheshire.

Rubber Sidewalks in Cheshire?

Posted By Cindy

I realize Earth Day has passed, but I happened upon an interesting article on of all things, sidewalks made of rubber. Recycled material is used and the cost is quite a lot less than concrete. The rubber sidewalks also prevent the cracking that occurs from tree roots and winter weather.

Now in other developments, I have a sad situation to report on. I know many of you have already seen the news reports on Cheshire resident Tim Dioses, who has not been seen since 10:30 a.m. this past Thursday after pulling into the parking lot of Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury.

Tim is my next door neighbor’s son and of course, everyone in the neighborhood is concerned. I actually did not find out about this until 10 p.m. Saturday night when I was checking the Newsfeeds that are now back on my website.

It doesn’t matter what you think or feel, as a mother I can just imagine what Tim’s family is going through now.

Please pray for this family. Here is the link to the WTNH story.
