Annoyances

I just wanted to touch on a few issues (on the issue page of course) that really burn my #####.

The first one is the E-Edition of the Cheshire Herald. Now I went down to the Herald to get my fair share of abuse, (oops, I was thinking of that old Rolling Stone song sorry). I went down to the Herald and paid the $24 for the yearly subscription.

Well two days later, I received my password, went to put it into place and guess what? You guessed it, it DIDN’T WORK!!! I tried several times but to no avail. I can’t stand things that don’t work right, I really can’t. Especially when it comes to money. I called my bank and they gave me a semi hard time about $24 can you believe it. They told me I had to go to one of the branches and fill out a form and wait and wait. For God’s sake, with the price of gas these days, it would probably cost me $24 to get to the bank and back. So, I just decided to wait a few days and see if the password to the Herald would work.

Lo and behold a few days later, I tried the password and it worked. So for the past few weeks everything was fine. Then this Thursday, I went to sign on and the password did not work again.

So again, I called my bank and they told me that the $24 was refunded into my account!! Like have you ever heard of NOTIFYING your customer that you took it upon yourself to do this. I just sent an E-Mail to the Herald asking them to correct the problem. If they do, I will give them the $24 subscription. Hopefully, we can work this out.

Now the one article I did see is the spin control on the grievances I ran a few weeks ago.

“Oh, you know, um like it looks like three grievances but it is really one.” SO WHAT!! A grievance is a grievance. From public employees it is public information. Let it go. It is part of life. No one is trying to start anything. It is just information that newspapers I worked on years ago would publish now and then without giving it a second thought. When you spin control, more questions come up. I did not say anything, I just ran the information as it stood, plain and simple.

Grievances are disputes amongst workers and their employers. It is not a coup d’ etat!! Grow up!!. I know when I get to the Town Government because the spin doctors will run it on the front page. You have an issue, then resolve it. How is the municipality supposed to know what is going on with their employees. A grievance is part of the process, like it or not.

Now I will, Town Government, be asking for an update, I will request it via FOI, on the municipal gas usage for April.

A sheet was presented in March by the Police Department at the budget hearings. Hopefully, I can get the update. And as far as this Skeleton password, I will be addressing this issue with the Town.

Gas is really climbing now. We all must conserve. And you know what that means Cheshire Police Department–STOP DRIVING THAT GAS GUZZLER FORD EXPLORER!!! I just saw it Thursday afternoon around 6 p.m. as I was leaving Stop and Shop. The GAS GUZZLER was going down Rt. 10. I hope we are NOT patrolling in this vehicle.

Another thing with this Boiler Bid. Where was the Town Attorney and the Town Council? Don’t they know or shouldn’t they know when the bid opening is taking place. From now on FIND OUT AND ATTEND!!!

I just confirmed it–AM I ANNOYING.COM is back!! So here is the link.
