A Dangerous Situation

This past Sunday, my spouse and I went for our daily “walk” about town. We always try to pick a different location. This time we picked Higgins Road near Rt 10.

So we parked in that parking lot in back of that abandoned underground gas station. I remember that station when I first moved into town nearly 25 years ago-I used to think it was so cool, I went there all the time. IT WAS COOL.

Then, a few years later, it closed and has remained closed and become yet another blighted eyesore on the town of Cheshire.

So as we were walking by, I thought I heard noises coming from inside the building. I said to my spouse-do you hear that? He said he thought he heard something-so we went down there to take a look and lo and behold-THE PHOTOS ABOVE!!

Yes, when we entered the parking lot-we saw BARRELS AGAIN!! Just like the barrels that were left at the old Huxley Gas Station near the Seven-Eleven that I had photos of last year. They were finally removed a few months after my photos appeared on this blog.

Now it looks like we have a repeat performance-As you will see by the photos, there are several barrels just lined up on the side of the wall facing Higgins Road. NOTHING CAN BE SEEN FROM RT 10-that is probably how they got away with it-BUT I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE WALK BY THIS PIECE OF PROPERTY AND SAW THESE BARRELS AND SAID NOTHING!!

OUTRAGEOUS!!

Now, the barrels say “non-hazardous” BUT ARE THEY?? One barrel, as you may be able to see from the photos, had the top pried off of it and it was empty.

WHAT WAS IN THAT??

Even worse is what we found when we went around the corner-a pried open metal door that obviously led to some sort of office-I heard noises, yelled inside and saw two kids in the office drinking beer-I told them I was not the cops, but they needed to leave or I was going to call.

The kids left and I did manage to get a photo with my crummy cell phone, of the open door and the vandalism that OBVIOUSLY HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SOME TIME.

When I went in-I saw beer cans and liquor bottles strewn everywhere-graffiti everywhere-I also saw a sign: “POLICE TAKE NOTICE”

HAVE THEY BEEN??

WHAT IS GOING ON HERE TOWN OF CHESHIRE?? THIS IS A DISGRACE!! NOT ONLY IS THIS SAD-IT IS DOWNRIGHT DANGEROUS!!

THESE BRAT KIDS SHOULD NOT BE TRESPASSING HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE-BUT NOW TOWN OF CHESHIRE-YOU HAVE A NICE POTENTIAL LIABILITY ON YOUR HANDS.

WHAT IF THESE KIDS WERE IN HERE AND STARTED A FIRE AND THE METAL DOOR SHUT AND THEY COULD NOT GET OUT??

OR EVEN WORSE-WHAT IF THEY WERE INSIDE THIS BUILDING AND THE ROOF-WHICH LOOKS LIKE IT COULD COLLAPSE AT ANY MOMENT-ACTUALLY DID AND PEOPLE WERE KILLED?

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS TOWN?? DON’T YOU SEE THIS??

I did call out the police on Sunday around 7:30 p.m. and an officer came out checked the building and shut the door. But believe me-this door can be pried open again-and I am sure it will be.

Hello, here is an idea-you see an ABANDONED BUILDING-YOU CHECK IT A FEW TIMES A WEEK FOR ILLEGAL OCCUPANTS!!

Nevermind driving by my house fifteen times in one day-try driving over HERE!!

This reminds me of that nice home near the Roaring Brook Falls that had to be torn down, costing the town tens of thousands of dollars because it fell victim to vandals!!

What A WASTE!! My spouse and I used to visit someone who was living at this house several years ago-AND WE GOT UP THE DRIVEWAY FINE!!

THAT WAS THE EXCUSE OF WHY THIS HOUSE HAD TO FALL VICTIM TO THESE BRAT KIDS THAT CAN’T RESPECT PROPERTY?? THE DRIVEWAY??

BULL CRAP!! My driveway in New Hampshire-goes 900 feet up in the air-is 250 feet long-IS NOT PAVED-AND I GET UP IT WITH MY TOYOTA COROLLA!!

WHAT ARE OUR PRIORITIES IN THIS TOWN??

Where I am from, you see an abandoned building-YOU KNOW PEOPLE, ALBEIT KIDS, ARE GOING TO GO THERE. TRY CHECKING IT OUT ONCE IN A WHILE!!

Besides the barrels, there is some sort of abandoned electrical transformer that needs to be REMOVED IMMEDIATELY!!

It is a downright miracle that no one has been seriously injured or even killed YET!!

Boy, this town must really love going to court!!

THIS ABANDONED GAS STATION MUST BE TORN DOWN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE-IT MUST BE MONITORED DAILY BY OUR POLICE!!

NO EXCUSES!!

This is beyond ridiculous-it is INCREDIBLE!!!

Where are the people who run this town-ON VACATION??

WHERE IS THE LOCAL PAPER??

Is GIS Spying?

As you know, I had a REALLY trying week-and on Thursday, I woke up and thought I had the swine flu-my head was pounding, my throat was burning, I ached all over-but I know it was stress and the pollen-deadly combination.

Now I did go over to the Cheshire Police Department and get the call logs for Thursday, May 21-the date I THOUGHT the police drove to my house to question me about the Bank of America non event.

I know some of you still want to go over to the Bank of America in Cheshire to protest-I know Val does, she got rejected AGAIN for her home equity loan so she is even more upset and I don’t blame her.

I know she will move on-but I do agree that Bank of America and these other banks need to get a taste of their own lending medicine and then they would know how it feels to work hard all your life and get told your credit is trash because THEY GOT BURNED BY BAD INVESTMENTS SO THEY TAKE IT OUT ON THE LITTLE GUY!!

Wouldn’t it be nice if the US GOVERNMENT TOLD BANK OF AMERICA THEIR CREDIT WAS CRAP AND THEY COULD NOT GET ANY MORE BAILOUT MONEY!!

THAT IS WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN!!

Anyway, if any of you do go down there with signs, DO NOT BLOCK anyone and things should be fine. This town needs a little kick in the ass-it is DEAD!! So a few loud people won’t hurt anyone-they are not wax, they won’t melt.

All I can tell you is-somebody sure moved fast on May 20th-I thought it was the 21st but I was corrected by the woman at the records department!! Not like something else-and don’t think I don’t know-my spouses friend works for the FBI!!

ENOUGH SAID.

I did get the summary logs and only saw when the cops went to the bank of america to investigate a “suspicous motor vehicle” What a bunch of malarky!!

First of all-I said on my blog we would probably go down to the bank-and we did-my girlfriend even told them at the 800 number she was thinking about going with a sign. It is funny, they did not seem to care!!

And um what type of bank is it that you cannot contact any of the local branches??

You can’t with Bank of America-that in itself says volumes.

Now according to the Cheshire Police Department Roll Call Summary for 5/20/09 the Bank Manager contacted the police about our supposed :suspicious activity with motor vehicle” on 10: 56 a.m.

Well, ask yourself a question-we drive up into the drive through-NO OTHER CAR IS THERE-we stay for a few minutes TOP, the bank teller says hello hello-we don’t say anything-then she calls for the manager-she says “can I help you” a few times, THEN WE LEAVE!!

Why is that suspicious?? What if their microphones weren’t working?? Did they think of that?? Boy they jumped to conclusions fast THIS TIME!!

They knew we were going to go down there-we did not hide anything-no one got disrupted-and we left–GET A LIFE!!

Now, when I looked at the Summary Roll Call log for later in the afternoon-I did see that the police conducted a “supplementary investigation” at 14:18 which is 2 18 p.m. No report was written-but a report was written about our supposed suspicious vehicle at the bank.

When some people in the minority community had an issue with Bank of America a few years ago-they made their presence known loud and clear-we did not even do that-we stayed a few minutes to make our point and left!!

More recently, a group of citizens in Northampton, Mass picketed LOUDLY outside of Bank of America protesting the bailout money B of A used to BUY MERRILL LYNCH!! Umm, I wonder, did the police in that town drive by ALL THE PROTESTORS HOMES SEVERAL TIMES IN ONE DAY??

PROBABLY NOT!!!!

It is funny that I don’t see how many times the cops supposedly went by my home-I know it was at least one other time before contact was made at 2:18 p.m. but IT IS NOT LISTED!! HMM!!

Anyway, I am not going to push it-I am through with this issue-but I CANNOT SPEAK FOR OTHER PEOPLE OR CONTROL THEIR ACTIONS, because I am getting co-operation from the Cheshire Police Department as far as releasing information-it is not perfect-BUT IT IS A LOT BETTER AND THAT IS MY GOAL.

Every once in a while, the student-CHESHIRE-must have a test-THIS ONE THEY PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS–GOOD!!!

I am concerned with how they KNEW I WAS HOME, or was it just freak luck or that GIS system the town wants to install-it probably is-I think that is SPYING in plain English-I think it can be a live map also-which is dangerous.

If a parent can pay AT&T $9 a month to monitor another family members location on their cell phone-you can imagine what a police department can do!!!

But I am concerned with how the police in this town react to difficult situations-that is more important to me-everything else right now, I can put in the wash-so on that note-we are making progress and that is my goal.

So what is this GIS Geographic Information System? Is it a way for the town or the police to nose in on your business? Or is it a way to collect up to date information on property boundaries, new buildings, etc?

Let’s examine this: I know what I would like to do to find out-I should conduct my own experiment-let’s say I sunbathe topless on my deck!! Do you think SOME ORGANIZATION WILL BE ABLE TO SEE MY ATTRIBUTES IN REAL TIME??

WE WILL HAVE TO SEE!! So keep a sharp lookout Town of Cheshire!!

Anyway-what is this GIS system that Cheshire seems to again have the money to spend on this software-DOES THIS TOWN EVER SAY NO TO SPENDING-GOD CAN YOU IMAGINE IFCHESHIRE WAS YOUR PARENT??

A Clockwork Cheshire

As most of you know, I have suffered a very deep loss over the sudden death of my friend Tom.

Tom was like me-a rude punk-that is why I loved him. He had no inhibitions-he made his own way in the world-he was a writer and an artist in the days 25 and 30 years ago when you could express yourself-you could shock and expose and the authority could not beat you down like today-with their oppressive tools-like background checks, credit reports-all of this is done to keep YOU IN LINE!!

If they don’t like what they see-no job or no credit.

You know what WHO CARES!!

Thankfully some people DON’T. They are not intimidated by the authority tools and will still speak their minds and be themselves, not act like a phony stuck up cardboard stand up like the people who run this town.

I never believed that people could actually live without a spine-but Cheshire has proven me wrong!! AMAZING.

The last time I spoke with Tom, a few weeks ago, we talked about his fave movie: A Clockwork Orange.

You see, the kids today think they are punks, but believe me-they are no where near what we were. They are mind controlled by those cell phones, they constantly text-they are addicted to electronics and THAT is how the man controls you-I AM CONVINCED THEY ARE SENDING SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES TO THESE KIDS TODAY-TO CONTROL THEM.

You can see it-they have no drive-no get up and go-they act like zombies-ADDICTED TO RADIO FREQUENCY WAVES!!

SAD!!

When I think of Tom and A Clockwork Orange, I think about how OPPOSITE I AM FROM CHESHIRE-I AM THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT THIS TOWN IS!!

Slowly, I see many in my generation being left at the station so to speak. Our way of thinking and living is dying and so are we.

I remember when I first came to Cheshire nearly 25 years ago, I didn’t care about what went on here- I really still don’t. I actually had to create Undergroundtown hall as an outlet of expression and free thinking, SOMETHING NOT ALLOWED IN CHESHIRE!!

Nothing controversial or out of line will be tolerated here-I started, used and kept UTH as a defense against the machine that runs this town-I knew as long as I kept writing on UTH I could keep the wolves from the door.

But over the years, (since 2003) I started getting tired of it-I wanted to end UTH last year but decided against it.

Now, that my dearest friend in the entire world is gone, someone who encouraged me and helped me since my childhood-I don’t know what I will do.

Honestly, I don’t care WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS TOWN-I COULD CARE LESS-IT IS PHONY BORING AND SNOBBY.

I don’t pay one dime of property tax to any of the stuck up bastards that run this place, (I leave that up to my spouse) so I really have no stake in any of the issues.

I don’t care if the mill rate is 80-IT DOESN’T AFFECT ME. I don’t care about that dumb ass lifestyle center-the schools, the raises the teachers got-WHO CARES.

I only did UTH to twist up and annoy the people who run this town-ANYTHING ELSE I DID ON UTH WAS GRAVY.

Now I will have to put things into perspective-so I will slow down my posts-but remember, like a drug resistant bacteria-I CAN AND WILL RESURFACE AT ANY TIME.

 

Wasting Money (AGAIN)

First of all, before I get into the main topic, I do want to thank all of my supporters who contacted me regarding this Bank of America issue.

I did speak to the Town Managers office on Thursday-so as far as I am concerned, the issue is resolved-BUT A POINT WAS MADE AND HAD TO BE MADE.

I can tell you one thing-it is OBVIOUS who this town kowtows to-and it is NOT the local population-it definitely is the banks and the businesses

I still am little perturbed that the police department came by my home a “few times” in order to see if I was home so they could discuss this “complaint” made by Bank of America.

Like, call my home to see if I AM HOME before you waste all types of man or woman hours continually driving by to see if I am there!!

And  look, driving your car into the drive thru-stopping for a few minutes-not saying ANYTHING-then driving off-IS NOT A CRIMINAL OFFENSE-AND NO-WE DID NOT BLOCK OTHER CARS- IF BANK OF AMERICA BOTHERS LOOKING AT THEIR VIDEOTAPE-THEY WILL SEE NO ONE WAS BEHIND US AND NO ONE WAS INCONVENIENCED!!

If a customer had queued up behind our car-WE WOULD IMMEDIATELY HAVE  DRIVEN AWAY.

Wasting time and money to call the police over something as inconsequential as this-is unbelievable.

Bottom line-you don’t involve the police when a criminal act HAS NOT BEEN COMMITTED.

Just because someone finds you annoying I hate to break it to some people– IS NOT A CRIME!

Otherwise-nearly the entire U.S. population would be behind bars-probably most of our bosses or supervisors would be!!

And, (excuse the language) calling someone  an “asshole” isn’t a crime EITHER!!

GROW UP!!

Can you imagine the cops showing up at your door and asking–”Hi Ms or Mr. Smith-did you call someone an asshole?”"

UNBELIEVABLE!!

So, now that I HAVE ANNOYED THE TOWN GOVERNMENT AGAIN!! Let’s get into the real issue here-WASTING MONEY!!

I happened to be looking through my old posts and I found the one I had written on Mixville Park last June 2008.

I decided to go to the park on a sweltering hot day to see if the situation with the Canada Geese had been resolved AND if people were using the park.

I know a lot of people abandoned Mixville after the Community Pool was opened and consequently, the town decided not to staff the booths at the entrance to the park and charge a fee to out of towners as they used to, in order for them to use the facilities at Mixville.

I know that over the past few years, some residents were complaining the park was being vandalized and trash was being strewn about and there was talk of re-instating a fee to enter the park for non residents.

Now I guess the Town is considering re-instating a per car usage fee for out of towners who wish to use Mixville.

According to reports-the Ordinance Committee will have to look into this issue and the Town Attorney will also be researching the legality of this.

My question–WHY??

Why are we wasting time and money having our Town Attorney research whether it is legal or not to charge out of towners to use Mixville?

ALL OF THE INFORMATION IS ON THE INTERNET AND IT IS OBVIOUS FROM MY OWN RESEARCH AT NO COST THAT IF CHESHIRE WANTS TO CHARGE A FEE TO GAIN ACCESS TO A WATERWAY, BEACH OR PARK THEY WILL HAVE TO CHARGE THE SAME FEE TO EVERYONE!!

I do remember some people in Connecticut challenging paying fees to use beaches and parks in Greenwich many years ago and the courts upheld this action because they ruled it violated their first amendment rights to expression.

Gun Laws in the United States

Well, many of you have commented regarding the Youtube video of the Manchester New Hampshire resident open carrying into THE POLICE DEPARTMENT!!

Could you imagine that in Cheshire–OH MY GOD!!

And also, did you notice how calm everyone was? BUT-when the gentlemen who went to the Police Station asked if he could take someone into the room with him to film-you notice how “nicely” the Police Sergeant just said “no” and kept walking??

That is exactly how they act in New Hampshire-I mean authority-that is how they act-IT IS THEIR WAY OR NO WAY-BUT THEY ARE NICE ABOUT IT AT LEAST!!

Being from Connecticut-and how guns are so regulated and controlled here-I had to get used to seeing people open carrying in Kansas when I went to K-State.

In fact, you could store your rifle or shotgun IN THE DORMS!! AND PEOPLE DID!!

I used to see people drive around with their long guns in a gun rack on the back of their pickup trucks and no one batted an eyelash!!

It still takes some getting used to -seeing people walking around with guns-did you notice the people outside the Manchester Police Station holstering a weapon while little kids were walking by and they did not even seem to notice!!

I guess it is all what you are used to. We are not used to guns here in Connecticut being out in the open and I am glad.

There is no need for a gun in our society today-that is why we have POLICE DEPARTMENTS.

So for some FYI-let’s see how other states handle a persons “right” to have a weapon.

In other news: The planned demonstration at Bank of America in Cheshire is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN-at least anytime soon.

My girlfriend got to fill out another loan application-so we will see what happens THIS TIME!!

TOO BAD-this town needed some excitement.

And speaking of excitement-I PLAN on attempting to discuss a personnel issue at the next Town Council meeting in June during public comments.

I am telling you now, I do not want to hear a gavel banging when I TRY to address this issue–I am bringing MY OWN GAVEL-so if and when the Chairman starts gaveling-I WILL GAVEL TOO!!
