Beginning on Monday, the Click It or TICKET seatbelt enforcement program began. Of course, I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt-I NEVER used to wear it until I came to Stalag 17 but NOW I ALWAYS WEAR IT because I just don’t have time to go to Meriden Court, stand in the line half of the day and put up with the nonsense.

So the discussion is: do seatbelts REALLY SAVE LIVES?? I mean when I was a child (and yes we did have cars-smartass) we did not have seatbelts.

Driving then was so–manly!!

You hit the brakes, smashed your face into that hard plastic steering wheel, or that rock hard dashboard-THAT WAS NOT PADDED-knocked out a few teeth–Oh well, what can I tell you-those days are gone!!

If you are a baby boomer than you remember the “mom” seatbelt-which consisted of your mom-just before she thought there might be a crash-thrusting her right forearm out as if it had a spring lock on it–her arm would ALWAYS LAND RIGHT ACROSS YOUR CHEST-and believe it or not–it DID prevent you from hitting the windshield!!

Our mom’s arms had perfect timing-it was amazing-no mechanical device to this day can replicate it–she knew EXACTLY when to deploy her arm!!

AND OUR DADS COULD NOT DO THIS!! IT NEVER WORKED WITH THEM-ONLY THE MOMS COULD PULL THIS OFF!!

Anyway-now we have to buckle up-but as I asked above-DO SEATBELTS REALLY SAVE LIVES?? AND WHAT ABOUT THE ONLY STATE IN THE NATION-NEW HAMPSHIRE-THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SEATBELT LAW?

Are people dying by the hundreds up there!! Let’s find out!!

Did you notice what the last line in the above article stated??

Yep, you read it right!! Bottom line-MORE MONEY OUT OF YOUR POCKET AND MORE GOVERNMENT RED TAPE!!

I know when I immediately cross over the New Hampshire line-the FIRST THING I DO-is UNBUCKLE MY SEAT BELT!! WHY BECAUSE THE SIGNS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE SAY-”BUCKLE UP UNDER AGE 18.”

“COMMON SENSE FOR ALL”

This is sort of a “gesture” I immediately put the seat belt back on.

But I will tell you why motor vehicle fatalities are low in New Hampshire-BECAUSE THEY ARE BEYOND ANAL WITH SPEED LIMITS!!

Believe me, Cheshire is a walk in the park compared to what is going on up there!!

THE SPEED LIMITS, ESPECIALLY ON THE SURFACE STREETS ESPECIALLY IN MANCHESTER-ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED!!

I told you what happened to my son who received a “speeding” ticket two weeks before he was to move back to Connecticut.

Sorry Dave, you will have to look up that old post!!

Anyway, my son was coming back from Mall of  New Hampshire where he worked, and was going 50 in a 30- JUST ABOUT  EVERY STINKING STREET IN MANCHESTER IS 30 MPH AND IT IS ENFORCED!!

He got the ticket-and luckily his license wasn’t suspended-because in New Hampshire if you drive 25 miles OVER the speed limit-your license is suspended for one month!!

He had two choices-plead guilty or go to court-so he elected to go to court-HOWEVER, UNLIKE CONNECTICUT, where one usually gets a court date in two weeks-IT TOOK THEM NEARLY FOUR MONTHS!!

By that time, he had transferred to Connecticut to go to school-So four months later, the court date came-in fact the letter informing him of the court date-CAME FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT-TALK ABOUT CONFLICT OF INTEREST!! DAMN!!

I went to court with him-it was a THREE HOUR DRIVE ONE WAY-165 miles to be exact EACH WAY.

We went to court-if you remember I told you how quiet and orderly it was-no yelling nothing.

You have to sign in-and wait your turn-We got called-went into a room and was handed a list and told-HERE ARE YOUR OPTIONS-PLEAD GUILTY-GO TO COURT AND HAVE A TRIAL OR DO COMMUNITY SERVICE OR A SPEED CLASS!!

THE TICKET WAS NOT THROWN OUT-EVEN FOR A FIRST TIME OFFENDER-THAT WAS NOT AND IS NOT AN OPTION!!

They will not listen to anything you have to say-they don’t say anything and treat you with respect-but it is their way or the HIGHWAY!! NO OTHER WAY!!

So, my son decided to take the speed class. Two weeks from the court date-my spouse drove him AGAIN to MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE to take the class-it was on a SUNDAY. The State of New Hampshire will NOT ALLOW you to take an online class-YOU HAVE TO SHOW UP IN PERSON!!

In fact, there was a man in my son’s class from California-he took the online safety course in California-GUESS WHAT-NEW HAMPSHIRE WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE IT!! HE HAD TO HOP ON A PLANE AND FLY TO NEW HAMPSHIRE AND TAKE THE CLASS THERE!!

Then, after the five hour Sunday class was over-the participants were given a certificate of completion. So, end of story right??  Mail in the certificate and all is right with the world!!

WRONG!! NEW HAMPSHIRE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO MAIL IN THE CERTIFICATE. YOU HAVE TO HAND IT INTO THE COURT—IN PERSON!!

SO GUESS WHAT AGAIN??? Yep-back in the car for a THIRD TIME-IN LESS THAN A WEEK-TO GO TO THE COURT-HAND IN THE CERTIFICATE AND LEAVE!!

AMAZING.

THIS IS WHY PEOPLE IN MANCHESTER AND MOST OF NEW HAMPSHIRE DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT OR CLOSE TO IT!! WOULDN’T YOU??

This is a very very effective way of enforcing the speed limit laws-not sittting on the side of the road like we do here-or pacing a car-they literally THROW THE BOOK AT YOU WHEN YOU ARE CAUGHT-AND THERE IS NO COMPROMISE!!

In fact, while we were at the court waiting to be called into the prosecutors room-and you sit in a private room with the prosecutor with the door closed-not out in the open like a circus here!!

There was a girl waiting next to us who told us she was here because her registration expired and she was given a ticket ON THE DAY OF THE EXPIRATION!! BROTHER!! TALK ABOUT STRICT!!

So now you know why seatbelts are NOT NEEDED if the laws are STRICTLY ENFORCED.

Of course, this would not go in Connecticut-people here are too hyper and they don’t have that many Italian people up there or New Yorkers-who would not put up with New Hamphsha’s anal Yankee nonsense–could you imagine??

S0, as I stated previously, I LOVE NEW HAMPSHIRE-but sometimes it is a love/hate affair.

Here is a state where you don’t have to wear a seatbelt-can talk on your cellphone-can drink alcohol practically 24/7, can open carry a firearm,  can purchase fireworks of all kinds all year long, DO NOT NEED AUTO INSURANCE-IT IS AN OPTION-CAN YOU IMAGINE??

BUT DON’T GO ONE MILE OVER THAT SPEED LIMIT OR ELSE!!

New Hampshire-Live Free or Die? (NOT EXACTLY)!!

Now, I do want to end with this Bank of America saga that seems to be heating up.

My friend STILL cannot get a home equity loan with B of A. But at least after three months of pounding on them-SHE FINALLY GOT A STRAIGHT ANSWER OF WHY SHE WAS DENIED THE HOME EQUITY LOAN!!

GOD ALMIGHTY!! GUESS WHY??

“Well you see, in 1492 as Columbus was discovering America-you made ONE LATE PAYMENT to your credit card company,”  Ms. B of A spokeswoman told her!!

NEVER MIND SHE PAID IT OFF IN FULL THE NEXT MONTH-OR HAD THREE LOANS WITH B of A THAT WERE PAID IN FULL NEVER LATE-MAKES MORE MONEY THAN I DO–A LOT MORE-BELIEVE IT OR NOT-SHE OWNS SEVERAL HOMES-FREE AND CLEAR-BUT STILL BECAUSE OF THAT LITTLE ASS PIMPLE-FROM 500 years ago-SHE CANNOT GET THIS LOAN!!

UNBELIEVABLE!!

All I can say is it is too bad that Bank of America doesn’t apply their own so called high standards TO THEMSELVES!!

So, my friend has been going to Bank of America branches around Connecticut with at least 25 of her friends holding up signs and going into the bank lobby and yelling-then of course-she leaves after the bank manager calls the cops.

Well, here is where it gets interesting-my girl wants to come to Cheshire-to do her protest thing!!

Problem is: her mouth is actually louder than mine!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??

Yes, Virginia, there is another person on this planet louder and ruder than I!!!

Oh God she is so much fun!!

When she called me and told me she is coming to Cheshire probably on Wednesday, I called the local paper and spoke to Josh Morgan the Cheshire Herald reporter.

I will tell you now, Josh Morgan HAS GOT TO BE RELATED TO ME!!

He is a real good reporter and writer-I told him this!!  That is why I think he and I should have a DNA test-HE HAS TO HAVE COME FROM MY GENES!!

No one that is NOT RELATED TO ME CAN HAVE THAT MUCH TALENT!! MY GOD, he is ALMOST better than I am–MAYBE HE IS!!

But anyway, I told him that I would let him know what was going to happen on Wednesday-but I also told my girlfriend that her type of behavior-even though she is not a criminal-would be misunderstood in “move before they throw dirt on you” Cheshire.

This town is SO BORING AND SO PREDICTABLE-I DON’T THINK THEY WOULD KNO W WHAT TO DO IF THEY HAD TO DEAL WITH SOMEONE WORSE THAN I!!

All I can say is: CPD-GET READY- GET THE MYLANTA READY AND BRING YOUR TASERS!! CAUSE WE  ARE GONNA ROCK IT OUT!!

FYI: The “Featured Video” shows a discussion between a New Hampshire resident in Manchester, New Hampshire regarding the open carry (of firearms) which as I said is legal in New Hampshire.

Take notice of the attitude!!

Also be mindful-New Hampshire has the HIGHEST GUN OWNERSHIP in the country and the LOWEST MURDER RATE!!

As most of you know, I support our teachers-and for those sexist men that keep saying teacher salaries are TOO HIGH and THEY DON’T WORK ALL YEAR-all I can say is NFL Football, Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association and National Hockey League.

THEIR SALARIES ARE TOO HIGH AND THEY DON’T WORK ALL YEAR EITHER!!

But the difference-THEY ARE ALL MEN!!

So to get on with it-my spouse did an “analysis” of some of the Cheshire Teacher salaries. This is for the budget year 2008-2009 that ends June 30, 2009. And this analysis doesn’t include any of the three year contractual increases.

According to my spouse: certified teaching staff  were budgeted for:

124 positions paying between $81,000 and $90,100

92 positions paying between $71,000 and $79,600.

So how does this compare with other towns in our state?

On to other issues:

I did get some feedback regarding this Dog Day at the Cheshire Community Pool.

Many thought it was a real cute idea-but some people, including my sig other-thought the idea of dogs swimming and possibly peeing or pooping in the community pool was disgusting.

First of all- I did see the video of this on Channel 14-and I thought it was fine. I mean look, the town WAS DRAINING the water out of the pool the next day in order to resurface the lining-so WHAT WAS THE BIG DEAL?

Plus, from what I saw, not that many dogs actually swam in the pool-probably because the water is so chlorinated-it turned the dogs off!!

You could see some of the dogs going to the edge of the pool, putting their noses near the water, probably smelling that God awful chlorine and then DARTING AWAY!!

NO HUMAN WAS GOING TO SWIM IN THAT WATER AFTER THE DOGS SWAM IN IT!! Besides you swim at Mixville and other ponds and lakes, I am sure you have at least once in your lifetime-swam in an natural water environment-God knows what is or was in that water!!

Besides, I am linking you all to a story about people swimming and peeing in pools-you are not going to believe it-but according this article-ONE IN FIVE AMERICANS PEE IN THE POOL!!

You know YOU PEE in our Community Pool-I DO!! I don’t bother getting out-besides I love the way it feels-WARM!!

Besides-what is the big deal-URINE IS STERILE!!

I am going through some information I received that I probably will post on Sunday or Monday, but until then I have a few things:

As far as that “issue” with our police department-I did speak with Deputy Chief Joe Popovich-who is a real stand up guy.

Let me put it this way-If Chief Cruess is General Patton-Popovich is General Bradley.

Anyway, to some of my supporters that were concerned over this issue-IT HAS BEEN RESOLVED!!

To move on: it seems that every year the Jaycees have their Carnival at Bartlem Park, the good weather goes on vacation-this year was no exception. Friday was nice, but I could not get to the carnival until Saturday-which of course, was dismal-the drizzle the fog-what can I say.

Well, I went and had my junk food for the month-the fried dough, the candy apple-but while I was there-I an idea came to me.

As many of you know-this years Fall Festival will not have the fireworks-let’s face it-the town can spend the $10,000 cost on something else-but then again-the way this town pisses away money-I think they should HAVE given the ten grand to something people enjoy-to take their minds off of this miserable economy.

So, if you remember a few posts ago, I said my spouse and I were going to knock on every door in Cheshire and ask for a dollar-there are over 9,000 households and we would have to start now, but it would be possible, albeit daunting.

My spouse and I and a few other people ACTUALLY WENT to every house in Cheshire to get support for the Senior Tax Freeze AND WE WERE SUCCESSFUL!!

Unfortunately, I did not realize in order to solicit door to door I would have to secure a permit from the Police Department for $100!! And that is per person!!

So then I thought about setting up a table each weekend at the local supermarket-but that might take even LONGER to get a dollar from every person-and the fact that many people from out of town come to Cheshire to shop at the supermarket, might make this idea a little difficult.

Then, it came to me-I came up with the PERFECT WAY to raise the $10,000-OK HERE IT IS!!

Now here is the CATCH-I will go to the Bartlem Park Field-and I will allow the CPD to taser me. But in order for me to be tasered-you will have to donate $1000!! If that is too much-than I will also allow the CPD to pepper spray me  for $500!!

Why $1000 a pop for the tasering-well, I don’t know how much I can take-but I figure if I can stand 10 tasers at $1000 a pop which I am sure I can do (that probably is the limit) that would pay for the fireworks.

Any additional monies would be donated to the poor and homeless.

So, I will be sending a letter to the Town Managers office to see what he thinks-I WILL sign a letter holding the town harmless (in case I die).

Before I go-I ran a music video on request a few nights ago featuring Jane’s Addiction.

Well guess what?? I found out Janes Addiction featuring frontman Perry Farrell, will be playing on June 14th at the old Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford-I think it is called the Chevrolet Theater now.

I wonder what they will call it when GM goes belly up??

Sheldon Dill and I will be attending this concert-I hope to see you there!!

And as far as Jane’s Addiction goes, they have been around since 1985-in fact Perry Farrell is 50 years old but like me-HE STILL ROCKS!!

And I did want to address another “suggestion” made to me-I guess this person liked the idea of having our Police Chief dress in “blues” or a shirt and tie twice a month.

I think that is a good idea-the patrol officer “blues” uniform. I DO NOT think a police chief should wear civilian clothes!!

Also, a suggestion was made that our Chief go out on the midnight patrol-NOT A BAD IDEA CHIEF!!

I sincerely believe this would boost morale!! BUT, let us remember-THIS MAN IS THE POLICE CHIEF-HE WAS APPOINTED TO THIS POSITION SO AT LEAST RESPECT THE POSITION.

But remember you know who-the Police Chief is NOT YOUR FATHER!! HE IS YOUR COMMANDER-RESPECT THAT. IT IS NOT A POPULARITY CONTEST.

The Chief has a LOT of responsibility and a lot on his plate-but even Patton went on into the field with his men-he was there with them on the battlefield. So this is why I think going out on patrol every once in a while-or even taking the bicycle and riding around with the bike patrol WOULD ALSO BE A GREAT WAY to gain solidarity with the rank and file.

I would do it if I were the Chief. It is something to think about. I will push for it.

The reason I am bringing this subject to light, is because on Wednesday around 6 p.m. I got a call from a local resident who wanted to know IF I KNEW  the difference between a title and deed and did the Town of Cheshire have the title or deed to the easement off of Buckland Drive in relationship to this Richmond Glen age restricted housing issue.

OF COURSE I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO!!

Besides my MANY TALENTS, I am a real estate magnate AND  a paralegal to boot!!

Titles and Deeds

A title is ownership-now this person also asked if the Town of Cheshire actually owns this right of way strip off Buckland Drive.

HOW THE HELL DO I KNOW?? ASK MR. FAZZONE!!

If the TITLE states that the Town is the owner and no one else has or is making a claim-then GUESS WHAT?? THE TOWN IS THE OWNER.

I mean look, there is no love lost between me and twit town but Mr. Fazzone DOTS HIS I’s and CROSSES HIS T’S.

It is in his best interest to do so isn’t it??

Besides, if someone is screwing around in this town-EVENTUALLY I WILL FIND OUT!!

Speaking of finding out-a few weeks back I ran those civil actions against the town of Cheshire from the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch website.

Many of them were old-but one caught my eye-it was a tort-”defective premises-public other” suit.

This involved the town, specifically Parks and Recreation.

It was “Hoppe III, William vs Town of Cheshire”

I really wondered WHAT this was about and WHERE the “defective premise-public-other” was-so after I was finished substitute teaching today in an undisclosed town (NOT CHESHIRE), I called Meriden Superior Court where this action was filed, to find out more about this case.

To be honest, when I first saw this-I really thought it was the skateboard park-but I WAS WRONG!!

The clerk told me this action will be going to a jury -pretrial hearing on Nov. 10, 2009.

Now details ARE SKETCHY because the clerk was busy, I could hear phones constantly ringing in the background, so she was rushed-but the bottom line-apparently the plaintiff, William Hoppe III, was playing basketball in Cheshire Park, 1000 Highland Avenue- (I don’t have the exact date or time) when the plaintiff claims he fell because of what the plaintiff claims was a defective playing surface-the surface was uneven and according to the plaintiff’s statement-was in need of repair.

I will say this:  boy, Cheshire knows how to pick the law firms-Howd and Ludorf-one of the best!! No taxpayer expense spared here!!

And I must admit-I don’t get it-why doesn’t the town use MURTHA CULLINA OUR TOWN ATTORNEY??

Do they not have expertise in this area??

All I know is, this action has been dragging through the courts for over a year!! WHAT IS THIS COSTING US-THE TAXPAYERS!! I WONDER!!
