End Of The Line

For approximately 15,000 unemployed people in Connecticut, this coming week is the beginning of the end-actually it is the end-THE END OF UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS!!

These are the so-called “first wave” of people whose checks have completed run out!!

Apparently, the total unemployment package (including the Federal extension) amounted to 77 weeks of unemployment benefits-AFTER THAT-WHO KNOWS!!

So what is the state of Connecticut’s response??

Stop answering the Telebenefits Line-and have police officers stationed in all of the Connecticut Dept of Labor offices!!

GREAT RESPONSE!!

You know DAMN WELL, the state would not be spending money to have police officers in the lobbies of these offices if they did not think there might be trouble.

And you know what-THERE MIGHT BE!!

You can’t talk to anyone who works in the Telebenefits Line-and this has been like this for weeks on end–it straightened out for several weeks after people contacted the Press and they did countless stories on busy signals and hang ups and SOMEONE GOT EMBARRASSED!!

But now, sadly, now that these people REALLY need to speak to a customer service representative-THEY GET THE MESSAGE-”CALL BACK LATER-GOODBYE”!!

This is a disgrace in plain English-because this part of the unemployment program-the Telebenefits line is FEDERALLY FUNDED!! THE GOVERNMENT HAS GIVEN THE STATE MONEY BUT THE STATE WON’T SPEND IT-THEY ARE GIVING IT BACK TO THE FEDS!!

The bottom line-the Governor-WHOM I DO LIKE-wants to show how she has cut costs-”we cut over 3000 positions through attrition or golden handshakes”!!

Talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face!!

Apparently-the top two managers of the Telebenefits Line RETIRED!! The state literally has shot itself in the foot-they have had to already implement “emergency callbacks” because of problems!!

Out of CONTROL!!

Just in case-and to be on the safe side-I know that Unemployment Van is coming to the Cheshire Public Library parking lot on Tuesday-I would SUGGEST-a police officer drive by or bike by-JUST IN CASE!!

Can you imagine what COULD happen  when all of these people-15,000 all at once-the first wave-find out their benefits HAVE BEEN EXHAUSTED FOR GOOD-and THEY CAN’T GET THROUGH TO THE TELEBENEFITS LINE TO BOOT???

No answer needed!!

In other news:

As you know, on July 20, 1960, the United States successfully landed a man on the moon.

Of course, there are the skeptics-mostly FOREIGN people WHO ARE JEALOUS of the United States-who keep claiming “it didn’t happen” and that NASA used the set of 2001 A Space Odyssey” to “film” the fake landing.

OH GIVE IT UP WILL YOU!!

Our country can’t keep a secret if its very existence depended upon it!!

SOMEONE WOULD DEFINITELY HAVE SPILLED THE BEANS BELIEVE ME!!!

If the cat got out of the bag with Watergate-you could IMAGINE what would have  been hitting the fan YEARS AGO-if these moon landings were faked!!

I ran a series of video programs on the supposed Apollo faked moon landings-so I am not going to bother doing that again-you have to make up your own mind.

The Way To Go

I did not get a chance to go to the pool meeting because of a previous commitment but I am going to link you AGAIN to this information I ran several months ago that I BELIEVE is the ANSWER to our COMMUNITY POOL PROBLEM IF THIS STUPID TOWN INSISTS ON HAVING A PERMANENT STRUCTURE!!

THE ANSWER IS THE SPRUNG STRUCTURE-THERE IS NO WOOD-NO SHEETROCK THAT CAN ATTRACT MOLD-NOTHING LIKE THAT-THIS STRUCTURE CAN BE PERMANENT OR SEMI-PERMANENT AND CAN EVEN BE MOVED!!

PLEASE-TOWN GOVERNMENT-YOU DON’T HAVE TO ADMIT THAT I CAME UP WITH THIS IDEA-BUT I BELIEVE-OUTSIDE OF MAKING THE POOL A ONE SEASON FACILITY AND STRIKING UP A DEAL WITH ELIM PARK FOR SWIMMING IN THE OFFSEASON-THIS IS THE WAY TO GO!!

This Sprung structure is easy to put up-is weather/snow resistant-it is ideal and cost efficient.

I still like the Milford/Orange YMCA glass enclosure from Openaire-but I do see a hefty cost-now that Cheshire has foot dragged for the past several years and the cost has skyrocketed-this Sprung structure I believe is a better alternative.

The town of Cheshire had better NOT even think of spending several millions of dollars on this disaster they created!! Forced down peoples throats!!

Every night when he comes home-I listen to the stories my spouse-who is a revenue examiner for the Ct Dept of Labor Unemployment Division (in other words-he goes after businesses that do not pay into the employer tax so their employees can collect unemployment if they are laid off).

It is unbelievable!!

People actually having to scrounge around picking up cans SO THEY CAN GET ON THE BUS AND COME TO THE UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE TO FIND OUT IF THEY WILL BE ABLE TO COLLECT!!

One woman called my spouse (who has been working on her claim for several weeks) and started crying saying she was going to be homeless in a few days-if she did not get her unemployment check!!

You STILL can’t get through on the Telebenefits line-ALL WEEK-EVERY DAY YOU HEAR “DUE TO HEAVY CALL VOLUME-YOU MAY EXPERIENCE A DELAY IN SPEAKING WITH A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE-PLEASE CALL BACK LATER-GOODBYE!!

NICE CONNECTICUT!!

And then these God Damn banks-THAT GEORGE REPUBLICAN BUSH PROPPED UP OVER THE PAST EIGHT YEARS-have a nerve bragging about their billions of dollars in profits they made-FROM THE BAILOUTS-AND OBAMA IS TO BLAME ALSO-HE SHOULD NOT HAVE CAVED IN BUT WHAT COULD HE DO-THE CRACK IN THE DAM WAS SO BAD-HE HAD TO PLUG IT UP!!

NICE WORK GOP!!

I don’t know WHERE THIS TOWN IS GETTING MONEY-but I am going to find out!!

CHECK REGISTER AUDIT TIME!!

And who better to bring with me is Mr. Field Auditor himself-MY SPOUSE!!

Speaking of banks-my girlfriend just got a car loan from TD BANKNORTH-GOT THAT BANK OF AMERICA-She got rejected from Chase-but their reason was more reasonable and understandable-too much extended credit-It is amazing-they went to the same credit bureau Bank of America did-Experian-and there was no mention of delinquency or accounts not paid as agreed!!

What a bunch of loser lying bastards!!

So my girlfriend HAS DECIDED to file a complaint against Bank of America and the town of Cheshire whom she claims violated her First Amendment rights to free speech (or non speech) when the Bank called the Police and the Police decided to turn a non criminal incident into a scene in plain English.

This town constantly tries to keep people from expressing themselves-we saw it with the signs on the telephone polls about the Lifestyle Center-SOME SIGNS STAYED UP WHILE OTHERS CAME DOWN!!

Then, when my spouse and I helped a local resident several years ago, get their traffic ticket thrown out-some entity never got over it-and has now stooped to an action so LOW IT IS UNBELIEVABLE!!

Like my spouse said-they did this to punish this person because they believe his actions-resulted in my blog and the THORN IN THEIR SIDE I HAVE BEEN AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE UNTIL MY CAR TIRES PERMANENTLY ROLL OVER THE CHESHIRE TOWN LINE!!

But like singer Vanessa Williams said: “You’ve Gone and Saved The BEST FOR LAST!! YEP!!

It will be interesting to see what the ACLU says-if they even respond.

Humpty Dumpty

On my last post, “War Driving,” I told you I was going to go by the Town Hall and see if there was any damage to the railing on the steps in the front of the Town Hall that faces South Main Street from some kids who have decided to use this area as another skateboard park.

Well, I went by on Wednesday night and took the photos that you see above.

The first two, show the skuff marks that are quite prevalant to this railing from kids sliding their skateboards down this railing then landing on the sidewalk.

The second photo shows another angle-remember, the kids I saw on Tuesday were not wearing helmets!!

Can you imagine what type of injuries they would have suffered if they had fallen?? And as I stated before, the parents would have been suing the town BIG TIME!!

The last two photos show some SHODDY upkeep to the front of this town hall-HELLO!! THIS TOWN HALL IS FALLING APART IN THE FRONT!!

Look at photo number three in the slideshow-CAN WE MATCH THE SLATE?? SOME OF IT IS CRUMBLING!! AND WHAT HAPPENED?? COULD WE NOT GET ANOTHER PIECE OF SLATE AT THE VERY RIGHT END OF THE PORCH?? THERE IS CEMEMT!! IT LOOKS TERRIBLE!!

The last photo in the slide show is what happened to the brick at the bottom right hand side of the building when I touched it to see why there wasn’t any MORTAR!!

IT BROKE OFF!!

ATTENTION: IF YOU ARE READING THIS POST IN THE TOWN HALL-GET UP OFF OF YOUR DESK NOW AND EVACUATE!!

THIS IS DISGUSTING!! THERE IS NO MORTAR AROUND THESE BRICKS!!

Now photos can’t show everything in detail as the human eye can, but I suggest someone from the Town Government go outside and look for themselves.

It appears there was some re-pointing work done-but either the mortar was not put in around the bricks or it crumbled and fell out!!

I did not see any lose mortar on the ground,  so I think someone FORGOT TO REPLACE THE MORTAR AROUND THE BRICKS WHEN THEY WERE REPOINTING!!

These were probably the same people who dug the original hole for the pool in the wrong place several years ago!!

REMEMBER THAT FIASCO!!

WAKE UP!! TAKE NOTICE TOWN OF CHESHIRE!! TAKE CARE!! THIS IS THE TOWN HALL-THE FRONT IS A DISGRACE!! IT IS FALLING APART!!

The railing is all corroded!! COME ON!!

I pray someone examines this railing before these blockhead kids decide to skateboard over there again. I hope this railing does not come loose!!

Bottom line: USE SOME OF THIS CRRA MONEY TO FIX UP THE FRONT OF THIS TOWN HALL NOW!!

This damage looks like it was caused by water

-CORRECT IT IMMEDIATELY!!

NEVER MIND THE POOL AND THE ASTRO TURF-AN INSPECTION OF THE FOUNDATION OF THE TOWN HALL MUST BE DONE ASAP!

War Driving

Yet another way for a person to steal your personal information: and with the economy being what it is-this is very tempting.

It is amazing how many people do not have a secured wireless network-I was in a place last weekend with my computer and picked up an unsecured WIFI network. If you know what you are doing-you can literally see everything on that other persons computer.

I am linking you to a really good video at the end of this post that shows just how easy War Driving is.

Wardriving is the act of searching for Wi-Fi Wireless Networds by a person in a moving vehicle, using a portable computer or PDA.

Software for wardriving are freely available on the Internet  notably NetStumbler for Windows, Kismet or SWScanner for Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, DragonFly BSD, and Solaris, and KisMac for Macintosh.

There are also homebrew wardriving applications for handheld game consoles that support Wi-fi, such as sniff_jazzbox/wardive for the Nintendo DS, Road Dog for the Sony PSP and Stumbler for the iPhone. There also exists a mode within Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops for the Sony PSP (wherein the player is able to find new comrades by searching for wireless access points) which can be used to wardrive. Treasure World for the DS is a commercial game in which gameplay wholly revolves around wardriving.

Wardriving was derived from the term wardialing from the 1983 film WarGames, which involved searching for computer systems to connect to, using software that dialed numbers sequentially to see which ones were connected to a fax machine or computer.

Warkitting is a combination of wardriving and rootkitting. In a warkitting attack, a hacker replaces the firmware of an attacked router. This allows him to control all traffic for the victim, and could even permit him to disable SSL by replacing HTML content as it is being downloaded 

Warkitting was identified by Tsow, Jakobsson, Yang, and Wetzel in 2006. Their discovery indicated that 10% of the wireless routers were susceptible to WAPjacking (malicious configuring the firmware settings, but making no modification on the firmware itself) and 4.4% of wireless router were vulnerable to WAPkitting (subverting the router firmware). Their analysis showed that the volume of credential theft possible through Warkitting exceeded the estimates of credential theft due to phishing.

On Tuesday night around 6:30 p.m. I was running an errand and drove past the Cheshire Town Hall when lo and behold-I discovered Cheshire had yet another skate board park!!

Yep-that’s right-you thought we just had the one at Bartlem Park??

WRONG!!

Apparently a group of kids are getting a big kick out of skateboarding down the steps and down the railing in front of the Town Hall!!

Look-I LOVE KIDS-I LOVE THE WAY THEY ARE JUST SO CAREFREE AND NOTHING SCARES THEM-ESPECIALLY BOYS!!

But, let’s face it-these Children of the Corn here eventually are going to fall and split their face open-ON TOWN PROPERTY-or accidentally skate into oncoming traffic on Rt. 10 or Wallingford Road and God forbid be hit by a vehicle.

I had to drive to the other end of town later that same evening around 8 p.m. and I got out of my car and took a look at the black metal railing that is on the steps in front of the Town Hall-it looks REALLY WORN!!

So, I am sure-this has been going on for quite some time-YET THE PEOPLE WHO SHOULD BE NOTICING-AREN’T!!

WHAT ARE THEY NOTICING??

You know damn well the SECOND one of these kids gets hurt-the helicopter parents will in front of the Town Council or worse yet-sending a letter to the Town Attorney from their attorney-taking legal action.

We have a skateboard park-PLEASE USE IT!!

A little more law enforcement in that area is needed-good place for the Bike Patrol!!

 

Drama

As many of you know-I TRIED to get on the GOP ticket as a candidate for the Town Council-but I really feel like I am getting the cold shoulder-that is not unusual in my case.

I always speak my mind-and a lot of people who are in charge of this town don’t like it-they see it as a threat-well too bad.

You always hear-”oh we want new ideas” NO THEY DON’T-THEY WANT THE SAME LIFELESS SPINELESS CLONES THAT WILL ONLY QUESTION CERTAIN ISSUES!!

THAT IS WHAT THEY WANT!!

I am seeing a little more questioning from the Republicans-but it is not enough!! There needs to be more DRAMA-more speaking the mind like Councilman Ruocco did with Schools Supt. Florio!! Speak from the heart-if someone gets offended-TOO BAD THEY WILL GET OVER IT!!

After speaking to a few people in the Republican Party in Cheshire-I get the feeling their slate is already picked-although I do not know who will be on it-I did think about running as a write-in for the Third District-but I probably won’t I don’t know-it really takes up a lot of time.

Depending upon how I feel-and right now I don’t feel like I want to be a spoiler-I probably won’t run. But time will tell.

I get the feeling that if I did run with the GOP of which I am a member-they would try to put me on some off in the ozone commission which I do not want.

I HAVE TO BE IN THE SPOTLIGHT-SO I CAN SHOW OFF 24/7!! I CAN’T BE IN SOME BACK ROOM COMMITTEE!! GET REAL!!

Now, speaking of drama-I happened to go to Hines Hardware-my favorite hardware store-to buy plastic bags to pack up our clothes so the exteriminator can spray for the “bedbugs”

P.S.-IF YOU GET A PACKAGE IN THE MAIL AND IT DOESN’T LOOK LIKE ANYTHING IS IN IT-BEWARE-I SENT YOU SOME BEDBUGS!!

I AM SENDING BEDBUGS TO ALL THE PEOPLE I DON’T LIKE IN THIS TOWN!!

Anyway, while I was at Hines, I noticed several police cars in the parking lot.

Turns out-the police arrested a female that was “wanted” I just hope it wasn’t DEAD OR ALIVE!! AND NO-IT WASN’T ME!!

I don’t know any of the details but I am sure the Spin Doctors will have the story!!

I also notice that the Rosa of Parks-MIXVILLE-is suddenly so important now-it has so many good qualities-so many amenities-now that the fee schedule is being implemented.

This park was literally “thrown to the back of the bus” so to speak for so many years-and now that people have to pay to go in-and the so called out of town “troublemakers” are gone-I guess this park is back to being stellar again.

I never thought ANYTHING was wrong with Mixville-even when the geese were there. SO WHAT?? It did not bother me or most people that would use the park-It was more annoying to put up with people bringing their dogs and having to step around dog poopie!!!

Anyway-I know the Waterbury paper had a story about our Soviet Swim Center-some want to close it in-some want to rebuild it-

LOOK I TOLD YOU!! MAKE IT A ONE SEASON POOL AND THEN MAKE AN ARRANGEMENT WITH ELIM PARK TO USE THEIR FACILITY IN THE OFF SEASON!!

I don’t see a problem with this-this town keeps missing the boat-PLEASE-GET IT RIGHT!!

Thank God we did not build that Lifestyle Center because I just went to CLinton Crossing last week and EVERY SINGLE STORE had a sale AT LEAST 50 to 75 percent off EVERYTHING!!

Retail is really hurting-but it seems Cheshire just has a bottomless pit checking account when it comes to this pool-there seems to be no end to the money pit spending–WHERE IS IT COMING FROM??

I can tell you this-Cheshire can’t wait to spend that $4 million they got from the CRRA-they are rubbing their hands together-I KNOW they will spend it on the Artificial Turf.

It this were several years ago-I would have gone for this turf-I don’t have  a problem with it-but NOT NOW-THE ECONOMY IS BAD-I know many of you are tired of hearing about it-you may be immune from it-but it is out there.

The U.S. is turning into a service economy-in fact, I just read an article which predicts that between now and 2014-there will only be 40,000 new jobs in the white collar sector.

The rest of the jobs will be found in “service economy” positions-electricians, carpenters, plumbers-they will be in the highest demand.

It makes you wonder if college is becoming “just a right of passage” and not really necessary.

Back to the pool-I know many of you who have never left the Cheshire Ct boundaries think this town is the only municipality struggling with their Community Pool.

I actually found this article about a town in I believe Washington state-that is also grappling with keeping their community pool open-the only problem is-THEY DON’T HAVE THE MONEY-but this town SEEMS TO HAVE PLENTY WHEN IT COMES TO OUR POOL!!

And finally-speaking of New Hampshire-I guess the Governor-John Lynch is putting the bite on Massachusetts Tax Revenue Service people trying to collect sales tax from their residents that buy products (tax free) in New Hampshire!!

GOOD MOVE GOV. LYNCH!!

States have rights-and one state DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT to impose their beliefs on another!!

I know I just went to Mall of New Hampshire-WHICH IS ALSO HAVING BIG TIME SALES-and bought a whole mess of clothes (no sales tax).

But attention Connecticut-I have a house in N.H. pay property tax (plenty of it) and I wore the clothes in New Hampshire before coming back to Connecticut-SO THERE!!

But in all honesty-some of New Hampshire’s laws can be a little anal-but New Hampshire is like a stanza from that old 70′s song-”Escape”

“It is a worn out recording-of a favorite song”

I always will love New Hampshire-but I ALWAYS will love Connecticut-when I get mad at them up there I always say:

“Better Yet-CONNECTICUT”
