A Positive Sign

I did notice a positive development in the sign on poles issue. It’s too bad as I have stated many times. People should be allowed to express themselves.

This activity went on for years in this town until the few people that THINK they run Cheshire decided many years ago that they were going to try to control people by using the police department or any other means they thought necessary to keep people quiet.

Only their opinion counts. They spoonfed you the information through the Herald and that Channel 14 which should be taken off the air because it is a propaganda tool.

You know what, for many years you sat there and took it. Some of you still do. You think it’s better to cowtow to them. You think you will move ahead. You might for a while. But in the end the REAL POWER IN CHESHIRE-THE PEOPLE-will have the ultimate say.

Now, speaking of the real power, I did receive a reply from the Attorney General’s office on Dec. 26 regarding my complaint with Campion Ambulance. I tried to contact the manager of this ambulance company many times but he refuses to return my calls.

I am not playing when it comes to my family. Now I don’t know how far this will go, but I ask any of you out there, if your CHILD was told by a public safety official or a teacher or a day care provider or any adult for that matter that if they did not do something they (the adult) wanted the child to do that they MIGHT be tasered by the police, how would you feel. If you were a daycare provider or a teacher, you would be in BIG TROUBLE period. You would not be getting away with that statement considering there were several witnesses that heard the statement.

Attorney General Blumenthal personally took time and typed this letter and signed it. IT is not a copy of a signature. It is his in ink.

The letter basically states that he “very much appreciates my letter raising my concerns and questions.”

“My staff will review your letter and will contact you as soon as possible.” The letter goes on to say the following: “We hope to address these issues and will DO EVERYTHING possible within our LEGAL AUTHORITY to assist you.”

Two years ago, I attended a tribute to the Marine Corps at a VFW Hall on Barnum Avenue in Stratford. Attorney Blumental sat at my table. Cindy knows ALL THE VIPS Cheshire!!

The Marine Corp awarded one of my sons who is in college a partial scholarship. Attorney Blumenthal is a Marine and he is fair and honest. I know his staff will make the right decision whatever it is.

The point is that if the manager of Campion had called me to discuss the issue, it probably would have been resolved. But some people who wear a badge think they are God Almighty. They are NOT!!!

Hopefully this will be resolved in a positive manner. I am always open to discussion about issues despite what I know must have been said between up the street and Campion Ambulance.

I have had to use their services a few times when I became ill, and they have always been professional. So hopefully we will discuss the issue between ourselves and it will be forgotten.

To end: The Inland Wetlands Commission will be Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall to make a decision on the proposed Lifestyle Center application. I hope as many of you as possible show up.

More posts later—Happy New Year!!!
