There are three people who control Undergroundtownhall’s dashboard: myself, my son and a close friend. Sometimes they will post photos and videos without asking me which is fine because I trust them. As far as the actual posts go-I usually have to approve the posts.

Sometimes you will see “by Cindy” and 99 percent of the time the posts are by me. When there is a post by someone else, they usually have to put their name on it either as a byline or in the body copy.

I don’t allow people to put words in my mouth and that is EXACTLY what is going on now!!

Now I like Tim White our Town Councilor a lot. I have a lot of respect for him because he is trying to engage the town to be more open and honest. Albeit, some of it might be politically motivated in the Republican point of view, but so what.

A few posts ago I did allow an anonymous comment. I usually never do. I HAVE AN IDEA of where these comments are coming from, but this is a Democracy and unless someone threatens,  I have to take it on the chin. I know what I am going to start doing-If someone posts anonymous I will run it and run their IP address along with it. If you can’t put your name on something you are a COWARD!!

Now I usually don’t go on TimWhiteListens that much.  I am busy and I really just concentrate on my website. I think the last time I went on it was sometime in late September. I do hit it from time to time and the same is probably true with Tim in regards to my site. I mean there is a level of rivalry I believe, that is normal, but even when I was a reporter, I NEVER read my competition, because I don’t have any!!

On Tuesday night, I had just gotten in from a business trip. It was around 8:30 p.m. when my husband said he had just spoken to a friend at Stop and Shop who told him there was a comment on Tim White’s blog and the commenter, (of course anonymous) had written “nice–Mrs. Kleist.”

I called this person at home and asked where the comment was. Apparently Tim had done a post on Defined Benefits vs Defined Contributions for Town Employees. There was a comment made to the effect “All you Town Employees do is sit on your ass and bitch” It was ANONYMOUS.

Well right underneath it there is another comment. It repeats the original comment and then says “Nice Mrs. Kleist…”

This IS ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS!!

I WOULD NEVER MAKE A COMMENT LIKE THAT-NEVER ABOUT CHESHIRE TOWN EMPLOYEES!!

First of all as I have said a thousand times before, I DON”T MAKE ANONYMOUS COMMENTS!! Secondly-why WOULD I MAKE A COMMENT ON TIM WHITES BLOG? I HAVE MY OWN BLOG!!

I am not afraid to tell it like it is and for those of you who know me or have read this blog for several years you know that,

Even when I criticize the Police Department with the tickets I always say I am concerned that there is too much pressure being put on the police to get ticket quotas. I just said it at Oct. 14th’s Town Council meeting where myself and my husband got up and spoke about the ticket he received on Carriage Drive for God Sakes!! I guess I will have to re run it for you skeptics.

I always supported the Town Employees and the Police Department ALWAYS.

I ALWAYS said we have one of the best Police Departments around, except I believe they might be a little pre-occupied with tickets but I always stated that I would trust them with my life and I do. Just because someone has a disagreement about a certain policy or comments on something that happened that they did not like, does not mean there is disrespect.

This is absolutely out of control and I am really upset over it. You see, apparently when someone makes a comment that  doesn’t sound like a WASP clone said it,  THEY THINK IT IS ME.

I went on Tim’s blog last early this morning around 7:30 a.m. before I started my day and sure enough the comment is there!!

I am going to try to get someone I know that is REAL GOOD with computers that helps me at work and with my blog to FIND OUT WHO IS DOING THIS!!

Well, for starters, the time the comment was made with my name on it occurred on Oct. 28th around 1:50 p.m.Someone hit my site around 1:48 p.m. that same day. I have the IP address and the server is Cox Communications. That is all I know.

But ask yourself this question: who would be upset enough to attribute my name to a comment, in light of what I and my spouse have been questioning over the past several weeks!! Case closed!!

The person who first alerted me to this comment issue also told me to read all the posts for that week on Tim’s blog so I did. I noticed a post about the election or absentee ballots or something. Yet another anonymous poster had written something to the effect that absentee ballots are not a fad and then put “Obama is Here.”

“Obama is Here” is a VERY popular music video made by rapper Ludacris. In fact, I had that very same video on my blog under “Featured Video” I believe on Monday night, my son had posted it himself which he can do, he just posted the photos of Baltimore, Md. he took when he visited there over the summer. I didn’t even know he had done this until Tuesday.

So what I think happened is that this “brainiac” wannabe detective “figured” that since he or she saw the “Obama is Here” video near the same time someone had posted a comment on Tim White’s blog and wrote “Obama is Here”  this jerk thought I must have made that comment.

Boy I hope YOU AREN’T a detective because with that reasoning, there are a lot of innocent people behind bars!!

Now onto something a lot more IMPORTANT!!

I did watch the debate between Al Adinolfi and Elizabeth Esty in Wallingford. Boy, their Government TV is nice!! I liked the opening-very professional. Henry Chase in Cheshire also does a great job with what he has to work with. I am sure Wallingford spends a LOT MORE MONEY on their GovernmentTV. Whatever.

Both candidates were good. However, I did like some of what Ms. Esty said about regionalization and the three strikes law.

But I want and I know some of you do also, a person that will REPRESENT THE PEOPLE, not specialized interest groups with an agenda. Just because you don’t “RECEIVE MONEY” from groups does not mean you don’t favor their ideas.

And be careful with the phrase “fiscal responsibility” especially in Cheshire. This Town Council has been spending money like a sailor in plain English. And let’s face it, speaking of prisons, if we did not receive PILOT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) from the state, we would be screwed!!

I do agree with Ms. Esty that we need to push the State to pay more of their share with their overusage of the Sewage Treatment facility. They could very well construct their own facility on their own property. They have enough land. If the State won’t pay their fair share to us, the Town of Cheshire needs to cut them off and tell them to build their own facility.

Back to the Three Strikes:

I believe HARDENED CRIMINALS should be given three strikes as I have said before, not Mr or Ms DimeBag of Grass. We have enough violent offenders out there to easily fill our prisons. Remember, prisons are expensive to build and maintain, and where will we build them?

Why don’t we see them publically…well the way our political system has been corrupted by the two party system of upper class rich has ruined our republican and democratic image althogether with the smaller parties. Laws were put into effect that ban smaller parties from competing on ballots without the proper funds, enough signatures, etc.; which SHOULD BE ILLEGAL IN A DEMOCRACY!
