Final Cheshire Municipal Employee Overtime

WHY DON’T I START A NEW POST?? BECAUSE I AM TRYING TO GET INTO THE GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS FOR THE LONGEST POST ON A BLOG IN RECORDED HISTORY THAT IS WHY!!!

CLICK HERE FOR ” BPT FIREFIGHTERS DIED IN BLAZE IN  ILLEGAL APARTMENT”

I am also glad that GOV. RELL FINALLY WOKE UP AND DISCOVERED BRIDGEPORT!!!

FYI: THE ACLU STOPS THE TOWN OF MANSFIELD CT FROM REGULATING “POLITICAL SIGNS”

IF I WERE THE TOWN OF CHESHIRE CT, ALL SIGNS MUST NOW EITHER BE ALLOWED NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY OR BE TAKEN DOWN FROM THE TELEPHONE POLLS. I SEE SIGNS NEAR RT 42, AND OTHER PLACES ABOUT HOUSE SELLING. A FRIEND HAD PUT “NO MALL” SIGNS ON THEIR PROPERTY A FEW YEARS AGO AND THEY WERE TAKEN.  SO THIS DOES APPLY TO CHESHIRE CT!!!

THIS STORY FROM THE CTPOST TIES IN WITH THE OVERTIME LIST. REMEMBER, THESE FIGURES ADD TO A PERSONS PENSION THAT YOU, THE TAXPAYER PAY FOR. AND ALSO, KEEP IN MIND, THESE OVERTIME FIGURES FOR POLICE  DO NOT INCLUDE EXTRA DUTY “OVERTIME FOR UTILITIES AND OTHER PRIVATE COMPANIES” THAT ALSO ADDS TO THEIR PENSION.

MUNICIPAL PENSIONS: SOLVENT OR ON THE ROPES?

SMALL TOWN GIVES BOOT TO OVERPAID TOWN OFFICIALS

OVERTIME COSTS COULD KILL SUMMER CONCERTS

Here THIS  is the video of the Cheshire Town Council meeting where my spouse addresses the driver license issue of June 3, 2010.

NOTE: I have several email addresses and I check them daily. This morning before I started work I went on one of them and saw what looked like an email from a former town council person. I opened the email and  it said something to the effect “canadian health medicine” or something and showed prices for cialis and viagra!!!

Now LOOK I KNOW THIS PERSON DID NOT SEND THIS EMAIL!! I deleted it but it did have other peoples email addresses on them which is disturbing.

WELL I GUESS SOMEONE DID NOT LIKE THIS OVERTIME LIST.

I HOPE THIS PERSON WHO DID THIS, AND I THINK I KNOW WHO BECAUSE I ONLY USE THIS EMAIL TO CONTACT GOVERNMENT PEOPLE, REALIZES MY SPOUSE WILL BE INVESTIGATING. HE HAS THE SAME POWERS AS A POLICE OFFICER, ACTUALLY MORE BECAUSE HE IS A FEDERAL AGENT. DON’T TRY USING MY NAME ON ANY UNAUTHORIZED EMAILS OR YOU WILL GO TO JAIL I GUARANTEE IT!! ALSO ONE OF MY SON’S WEBSITE CLIENTS ARE THE ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE SO PANSIES YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE BIG TIME!!

ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE WEBSITE

BESIDES YOU NEED VIAGRA AND CIALIS NOT ME. I DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THAT TYPE OF MEDICATION BECAUSE I CAME FROM A GOOD GENE POOL NOT LIKE YOU.

As most of you know, the city of Bridgeport is going through some hard times, the uptick in crime, the tornado and now two Bpt firefighters killed in the line of duty. But, people from Bridgeport KNOW how to survive to take in on the chin and FIGHT BACK AND KEEP GOING. That is where I learned it from. When you come from a place that is in the bottom of the ninth, with three men on and two men out, YOU LEARN FAST!!

OUTWIT, OUTSMART, OUTLAST!!!

Let’s lighten things up a bit:

Here is a cute e-mail I wanted to post from a reader. All you young people under 35 TAKE NOTICE!!!

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE

1930s, ’40s, ’50s, ’60s and ’70s!!

First, we survived being born to mothers who may have smoked and/or drank

while they were pregnant.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn’t get tested for diabetes.

Then, after that trauma, we were

put to sleep on our tummies

in baby cribs covered

with bright colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets,

and, when we rode our bikes,

we had baseball caps,

not helmets, on our heads.

As infants and children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes..

Riding in the back of a pick- up truck on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter, and bacon. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar. And we weren’t overweight.

WHY?

Because we were always outside playing…that’s why!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day.

–And, we were OKAY..

We would spend hours building

our go-carts out of scraps

and then ride them down the hill,

only to find out we forgot the brakes.. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Play Stations, Nintendos and X-boxes. There were

no video games, no 150 channels on cable,

no video movies or DVDs,

no surround-sound or CDs,

no cell phones,

no personal computers,

no Internet and no chat rooms.

WE HAD FRIENDS

and we went outside and found  them!

We fell out of trees, got cut,

broke bones and teeth,

and there were no lawsuits

from those accidents..

We would get spankings with wooden spoons, switches, ping-pong paddles, or just a bare hand, and no one would call child services to report abuse.

We ate worms, and mud pies

made from dirt, and

the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls, and

-although we were told it would happen- we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend’s house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them.

Little League had tryouts

and not everyone made the team.

Those who didn’t had to learn

to deal with disappointment.

Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers,

problem solvers, and inventors ever.

The past 50 to 85 years have seen an explosion of innovation and new ideas..

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.

If YOU are one of those born

between 1925-1970, CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives  for our own good.

While you are at it, forward it to your kids, so they will know how brave and lucky their parents were.

Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn’t it ?

The quote of the month

by

Jay Leno:
“With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?”

For those that prefer to think that God is not watching over us…go ahead and delete this.

For the rest of us……pass this on.

ADDENDUM: I wanted to just offer a comment. I hope the people who run this town will look at this list and the cost—OVER $600,000 FOR ONE YEAR for overtime.  Then the town tells certain departments to cut back, pounds on education, cancels bulk pickup, wonders where they are going to get the money for upgrades to our school infrastructure–how INSULTING.

You see, the bottom line in Cheshire CT., you live here-but WE (the few and the privileged) run everything. YOU JUST STAY IN YOUR PLACE AND DON’T QUESTION ANYTHING ESPECIALLY 500 HIGHLAND AVENUE!! WE DON’T WANT YOUR INPUT, STAY HOME, AND STAY OUT OF OUR WAY OR ELSE!!

What a shame. This town is akin to a chef spending hours preparing a gourmet meal, only to have the dish slip from his/her hand and fall to the floor-RUINED.

This town COULD and STILL CAN be the gem of the state of Connecticut. It is centrally located and has a lot of smart people. It is unfortunate the people at the helm don’t want their input. They have old fashioned ideas and refuse to let them go. They don’t welcome people they feel are NOT ONE OF THEM.  That is why we have to pay to go to Mixville because some prima donna heard a person yell mother fucker!!! OH GROW UP!! Who the hell are you?? “Oh we have to be careful because we have the jail here” WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?? MAYBE THE WRONG PEOPLE ARE LOCKED UP!!

Will your favorite teacher be in the classroom NEXT FISCAL YEAR?? Or will we hear “we have to cut back in these hard economic times”  “I can’t go for a $21,000 salary with the economy the way it is” OH REALLY? But I guess spending OVER $600,000 in overtime IN ONE FISCAL YEAR IS BEING FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE REPUBLICANS!! YOU RAN ON THAT PLATFORM. YOU CRITICIZED AND BEAT THE DEMOCRATS OVER THE HEAD FOR IT. NOW WHAT WILL YOU DO ABOUT THIS?? LISTEN TO THE WHINING THAT WE ARE SHORT STAFFED AND WE CAN’T COMPROMISE PUBLIC SAFETY?? GIVE ME A BREAK!!

THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE OUTRAGE THIS OVERTIME. I AM HAPPY THAT TOWN COUNCIL PERSON ANNE GIDDINGS AT LEAST HAD THE GUTS TO ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT IT AND ASK ABOUT THE INCREASE IN LARCENIES IN LAST MONTHS POLICE REPORT.

ALL YOU SEE IS THEM DRIVING AND DRIVING UP AND DOWN ROUTE 10 and WEST MAIN ST. I WONDER WHAT THE GAS USAGE IS NOW!! THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THIS TOWN HAVE NO REGARD FOR YOUR FEELINGS OR YOUR INPUT. THEY DO WHAT THEY WANT BECAUSE YOU LET THEM!!! YOU DON’T CARE!!

START CARING!!!

TRY WALKING THE BEAT OR BIKING. I WALK EVERY DAY EVEN IN THE HEAT AND I WALK MILES. MAYBE THIS WOULD CUT DOWN ON HYPERTENSION AND OBESITY JUST TRY IT. THEY DO IT IN MONTREAL. THE COPS WALK!! THE AMBULANCE PEOPLE RIDE BICYCLES AROUND THE CITY.  MAYBE THAT IS WHY THE PLUS SIZE STORE IN MONTREAL STARTS AT SIZE 8!!!

IF THIS TOWN AND ANY TOWN OR CITY FOR THAT MATTER IS SERIOUS ABOUT SAVING MONEY, THINGS LIKE WHAT IS ON THIS POST HAVE TO BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION–NOW!!!

As I stated in the last post, I did receive the FINAL Cheshire CT municipal employee overtime list. The first list I received that ended April 20, 2010 was in ORDER OF THE HIGHEST OVERTIME EARNERS TO THE LOWEST AND LISTED BY DEPARTMENTS. THIS FINAL LIST WAS IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER AND DID NOT LIST DEPARTMENTS. SO, I COMBINED THE TWO LISTS. THE FIRST SET OF FIGURES IS THE OVERTIME AS OF APRIL 20, 2010. THE FINAL FIGURE IS AS OF JUNE 30, 2010 WHICH IS THE END OF THE TOWNS FISCAL YEAR. THE FISCAL YEAR RUNS JUNE 30 2009 to JUNE 30 2010. REMEMBER THESE FIGURES ARE FROM APRIL 20, 2010 to JUNE 30, 2010.

NOW SOME OF THE FIGURES HAVE QUESTION MARKS BECAUSE THEY MUST HAVE BEEN INPUTTED INCORRECTLY. THAT IS THE NATURE OF THE BEAST. SO THE TOTAL SUM OF GROSS OVERTIME EARNINGS IS (GIVE OR TAKE A FEW DOLLARS) $613,441.37!!

My God look at this list. Some of the overtime DOUBLED and even TRIPLED in two months time!!! OVERTIME BONANZA!!! LOOK AT IT!! YOU DECIDE FOR YOURSELVES. UNBELIEVABLE. NOW YOU KNOW WHY I AM LEAVING TOWN AND PROBABLY NOT A MOMENT TOO SOON.

I apologize for any errors or omissions. I DID TYPE THIS ALL IN BY HAND BECAUSE I HAD TO COMBINE THE LISTS. MY SPOUSE ALSO ASSISTED.
