Here are the latest headlines from a few of my favorite newspapers:
The Laconia, New Hampshire, Citizen
La Presse, Montreal (Francophone)
Interesting take on the ice storm from Montreal’s point of view. P.S. They don’t shovel or plow up there so it is TREACHEROUS.
FYI: 10 centimeters is four inches. Temperature wise–32F equals 0 degrees celsius.
What is worth noting is in the Ct Post, the town of Fairfield appears to have lost $42 million in pension funds from “mismanagement.”
And this ice storm up north has something like 77,000 people JUST IN NEW HAMPSHIRE LAKES REGION, where I have my home, without power. Hopefully I will be able to get my neighbor to make sure our pipes haven’t burst in our home.
UPDATE: My spouse JUST INFORMED ME that he drained all of the water from the pipes and the water tank and put in anti-freeze in September. PHEW!!!
More news in a few days.
