Thank you for all of your comments regarding the posting of the Cheshire Police Dept call log summaries.

There were twice the usual hits that UTH receives in a day-obviously this was a very popular subject amongst the general populace and the Town of Cheshire.

Running the call logs is not an everyday event in Cheshire-so this was a special event. Anyway, I did want to run a few comments and also link you to a Texas Police Department that really does it right as far as releasing information that “supposedly” can’t be released here.

(Of course it can be released-but because the powers that be were never asked for the information-some people got into a bad habit).

I am linking you to the Baytown Texas police department LOGS-ALL OF THIS INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC  YOU HAVE TO READ THROUGH IT CAREFULLY BUT IT IS ALL THERE!!

Hopefully, this town will learn that when an incident happens at a business-the address SHOULD NOT BE REDACTED OUT!!  PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW!!

Someones notebooks should be working overtime now!!

MS-DEMEANOR SAYS:

Cindy-I thought the Police logs were interesting-I think you should bind up all of these reports and make it into a best seller-maybe even a made for TV movie, “Cheshire Cops On Patrol.”

But, I wonder how come I never see the police patrolling on my street-I live near the Cheshire/Southington town line.

EDITORS NOTE:

Several years ago, I DID axe one of the Police Chiefs that very question-and he told me that there was very little crime on the side streets-so they did not see a need for patrolling.

I do disagree with the patrolling issue-I think all streets at least once a day should get a drive by-but I do SEE A NEED-A NEED FOR SPEED!!

JOHN DONAVAN SAYS:

I am glad you did put these police logs in-now maybe you all will see how much work the Cheshire Police Department does-they don’t sit around like some of you think-they work hard and patrol our streets and answer the calls for assistance and give aid to people who need help.

AMERCA’S LEAST WANTED SAYS:

Cindy-thank you for printing those reports-now I know where all the speed traps are.

BUCKLAND DRIVE SAYS:

I never realized how many medical calls there were-I was really surprised and I also wanted to know what all those location checks were-what are they?

EDITORS NOTE:

Location checks are when residents who may be away from their homes for an extended period of time ask the police to drive by their home or business to make sure it is secure. Location checks may also be done for extra security at the discretion of the officer.

EDDIE SAYS:

Hi: I don’t know if you noticed, and I realize you did not run the complete logs, but it seemed like there was an awful lot car washes going on how manytimes do they wash the cars.

HOWARD P SAYS:

If this is really the log of the all the calls-our town really is boring or is it?? and what was with all of those road condition checks? I could see it in the winter-but now during the spring? Don’t get it.

OK-that is enough of the comments for now. But I did want to move on to a very serious issue involving a resident that had asked for myself and my spouses assistance several years ago-which led to hard feelings among a certain town government agency and ended up (indirectly) spawning the birth of Undergroundtownhall.

Well, the person got in a jam again-and am not getting into specifics-it was in the Herald-and I honestly take this persons word about things with a grain of salt-BUT I sometimes wonder if these police reports-and I mean police reports for any police agency-are what they seem.

This person is not in my opinion-a bad person-but everyone has their breaking point and I believe this is what happened. I am concerned about certain allegations this person made-but I will have to discuss this with the appropriate entity in private.

Anyway-there are many articles on Police Reports-how they are put together and how accurate they are.

When an event happens-many people may witness the event but see it in a different light. So let us first read this article on “Police Report Writing-The Elements of a Police Report”

Click here-class is NOW IN SESSION-TAKE NOTES

And another good talking point on this very subject:

“Police Misconduct-A Preponderance of Perjury”

Finally-if this town stopped trying to win the Ms. America “WE ALWAYS COME OUT SMELLING LIKE A ROSE” Contest and set our mill rate to cover our expenses-as far as education is concerned-maybe the Schools Supt. would not have to lay off teachers or shuffle everyone around!!

Yes, it is the union’s fault to an extent-I agree with Dr. Florio that much-but set the town operating budget a realistic figure-not show off “oh look-our mill rate is LOW-see what we did-we saved you taxpayers money-so we can look good and get re-elected”

Also: In light of the Swine Flu situation, I am associated with a local Health Care Provider that sells Immuplex by Standard Process-this supplement boosts the immune system.

Leave a comment with your name and phone number-the comment WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED-so I can contact you if you are interested.
