Every six months I try to run the Police and Fire Gift Account ledgers. If you reside in Cheshire CT, you know each year Elim Park Baptist Home gives the Police and Fire Depts. approximately $150,000 in “appreciation” of their service to Elim Park. All well and good but Elim Park needs to give this money (or pay taxes on their assisted living), to the Town of Cheshire CT. It is not personal, but just how I feel. I like Elim Park, it is a nice place, very well run and you can tell they treat their residents with dignity and respect. And Ron Dischinger is the nicest man walking on two feet.
Anyway-I am going to run the Police Gift Account Ledger from June to December 2011. I did run June 2011 six months ago so that will be a repeat but, whatever. Highlights of the CPD Gift Account- on November 12, 2011, there was a purchase for office furniture in the amount of $7,658.89.
WHAT IS THIS POLICE STATION TURNING INTO-MAR E LAGO? DAMN! SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR FURNITURE. GO TO BIG LOTS NOT FURNITURE BARN. IT IS A POLICE STATION FOR GOD’S SAKE
Then there was this “HONOR PLAQUE ENGRAVING AWARDS” on November 12, 2011 for $1,809. The only person who should be getting an award is ME!
Most of the other expenses were for computer software-and then again on November 12, 2011 (they must have had a party after their awards ceremony)-JEEZ-because they flashed out that P-Card and spent $366.49.
As Jackie Gleason used to say: “HOW SWEET IT IS.”
I ALSO NOTICE ANOTHER POLICE CAR was purchased on Dec. 3, 2011 for $24,298. How many miles do these cars have when they get rid of them. And this way, they sneak it-it doesn’t show up in their budget so people don’t think they are buying any cars (the only way you know, is if you get the Gift Account ledger).
THIS IS WHY THIS MONEY NEEDS TO BE GIVEN TO THE TOWN. I know some of you don’t agree, but-whatever.
THE NET BALANCE IN JUNE 2011 (I HIGHLIGHTED IT WITH YELLOW MARKER BUT IT MIGHT NOT SHOW UP ON THE SCAN) CAME TO $12,253.84
THE NET BALANCE IN DECEMBER 2011 was $118,504.49.
