It's not going to change, short of a whole lot of other things happening. Several years back, the Town approached Elim about re-directing their gift(s) to other town departments and apparently was rebuffed. While I would not expend some of the gift money as has been done, I am aware that there are a lot of necessary department expenses covered by the fund. These are items that should be funded out of the operating budget, so in that regard, taxpayer money IS being saved. Over the years the Town has come to depend on this. Why continue to rant about this? It’s not going to change, short of a whole lot of other things happening.
