I received a private comment from a local business in Cheshire wanting to know if these series of signs at Arbys in Cheshire were legal.
Well, to be honest, I did not know, so I tried to look at the Cheshire Planning and Zoning Regulations Section 34 which I have provided a link for your perusal.
Now the regulations are convoluted to say the least, but what I could get out of Section 34 is thatonly certain signs are allowed in a Commercial Zone, where the Arby’s is located.
Apparently, several of these temporary signs that you see on the grass strip in front of the Arby’s are not legal.
According to Zoning Regulations Sec. 34 “Signs ALLOWED in C-1, C-2 or C-3 Commercial Districts-”These signs may be illuminated and require a permit unless otherwise noted:
“ONE freestanding sign per lot not to exceed 32 sq ft.”
I don’t know about the “flag” signs that are on the lawn in front of the restaurant.
All I know is that I did contact Rob Librandi, assistant Zoning Enforcement Officer for a clarification and he told me he had spoken to the Arby’s manager about these string of signs and the balloons, which I believe are also illegal.
Now the photo showing the string of blue signs was taken the middle of last week around June 1 or 2nd. The photo showing the front of the Arby’s with just one freestanding blue sign and no balloons, was taken on Sunday, June 6th. So Arby’s is complying with the Zoning Regulations.
All I can say is that I feel sorry for this Arby’s Manager-this town is BORING!! The guy tries to spice things up a bit and look what happens!!

Personally, I don’t care about signs-who puts them up or where-I really don’t. I have A LIFE and do not fixate on something as insignificant as a business owner trying to make a living or a person trying to express an opinion.
The people who do FIXATE on what type of messages may be on signs are the PEOPLE WHO RUN THE DEMOCRATIC PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF CHESHIRE (DPRC)
This is my new name for Cheshire. Up until when the proposed Lifestyle Center came into being, I didn’t care who put up what signs-I STILL DON’T.
HOWEVER, when you get a call from the Police Department telling you that SOMEONE, allegedly saw my spouse “put up” a no -mall sign on a telephone pole and that it was taken down when a TAG SALE sign that happened to be on that SAME POLE WAS LEFT UP-THEN HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!
Yeah like a FIRST AMENDMENT PROBLEM.
So, Arby’s, BLAME THE TOWN GOVERNMENT OF CHESHIRE-THAT ALLOWS CENSORSHIP-AND TRIES TO SILENCE DISSENTERS. WHO KOWTOWS TO MAJOR BUSINESSMAN AND THE BIG C REAL ESTATE COMPANY!!
Case in point-If I TRESPASSED on a residents property to take a “no mall” sign down like someone we know did-I WOULD BE IN COURT!!!
But you see, when something “doesn’t happen” when certain people the Town Government does not like, AGAIN try to use their First Amendment RIGHTS to free speech and expression-them cops are up your ass lickety split!!
“Oh, we did not look at the tape at the Bank” (to make sure it was us in the car) “we got a discription that matched you (me).”
So that was good enough!! TRY INVESTIGATING BEFORE BLAMING!!
These are the same PEOPLE who made the police spend HOURS on end during the last election trying to research whether putting campaign literature in other peoples bags was illegal!!
They should have spent that much time researching SOME OTHER EVENT!!
And then, when the cops apparently tried to call me about that non incident-I was not home and did not answer the phone-they put in the report that I DELIBERATELY DID NOT ANSWER THE PHONE!!
But its funny, when my friend called the cops to complain that someone in that same area where I supposedly put my literature in someone elses bags was seen taking MY CAMPAIGN SIGN off of her lawn-NOTHING WAS DONE!!
This is what I mean about Cheshire-as Pres. Kennedy said in his Secret Society Speech:
“THEIR MISTAKES ARE BURIED-NOT HEADLINED-THEIR DISSENTERS ARE SILENCED-NOT PRAISED”!!!
Now I will update you in the next post about a few of my supporters who attempted to contact the Connecticut Civil Liberties Union over this Bank of America issue which is still smoldering like a bunch of rubber tires in a landfill!!
And speaking of the election-I did run into several people at the Relay for Life who asked me to run again as a Write-In.
Well I really did not want to do it again, I wanted to run with the Republicans of which I am a member in Cheshire (believe it or not), but then I ran into a Republican Town Council member who basically told me not to bother because I support Pres. Obama!!
WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING!! I VOTED FOR OBAMA BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN I SUPPORT EVERYTHING HE DOES OR SAYS. I DON’T
That is ridiculous in plain English. I support or don’t support something based on the issue and the ramifications it would have on this town and the taxpayers!!
The problem is: the Republicans NEVER question their leadership-do you notice that!! EVERYTHING is SOME ONE ELSES FAULT-NEVER THEIRS!!
How could someone make an assumption like that?? I am supposed to blindly follow the GOP and cannot make my own decisions?? But, in all fairness to this person, the Dems do that in this town-they really do.
Then this person said the Republicans will WIN the Cheshire Town Council in November.
NOT WITHOUT THE QUEEN ON YOUR TICKET!!
DOESN’T THE GOP IN CHESHIRE REALIZE I AM THEIR ONLY HOPE!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM??
So, now that I got the big DISS-I am now considering running as a WRITE-IN FOR THE THIRD DISTRICT TOWN COUNCIL.
