Winning the Game

November 19th, 2009 by Cindy

A few months ago, I wrote about how I really believed I had hit a wall  and was out of the game over that incident with the Town Government and their “enforcers.”

Well, thanks to a supporter-we were able to throw a last second Hail Mary pass and SCORE A TOUCHDOWN!!!

Yes, the TOUCHDOWN for you that are still in the dark, was the now infamous “HIPAA INCIDENT” where a supporter alerted a family member to the POSSIBLE HIPAA violation broadcasted over the police radio. Just re-read the post “HIPAA VIOATION?” and you will see the TEXT of the incident right as it was happening!!!

No wonder I still can’t get an answer from the Town Government as to what happened. You know, unlike the other side, if I just got an honest explanation, AS I WAS TOLD ON WEDNESDAY I WOULD ON THURSDAY, it probably would have been the end of it. I have no one to impress or to prove myself to, as the other side does, so why get someone in trouble as they like to do. THIS IS A VIOLATION OF THE LAW but if the Town Government would just be honest and the person or persons involved received counseling or retraining that would be the end of it.

But it isn’t because I have been asking now for OVER A WEEK and get nowhere. Now, does the Cheshire Police Union now know how I feel?

You have been asking for explanations. HAVE YOU GOTTEN THEM?? DO YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN?? THEY DO IT TO YOU TOO. IGNORE AND HOPE IT GOES AWAY!!

I was told by the Town Government on Wednesday when I stopped by for the second time looking for an explanation after being told there would be a meeting with the Police Chief, whom I was discouraged to talk with about this issue, that I would receive an “honest” explanation.

Well, I’M WAITING!!!

And another thing, why is the Town Government meeting with the Police Chief and the UNION REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT NOT IN ATTENDANCE!!

This town does so many things in the low they should rename Cheshire the NETHERLANDS!!

Damn-when is this going to end!! I am holding out some sort of hope the new Town Council gets on the stick and holds the Town Government accountable. STOP MAKING EXCUSES WITH MY ISSUE AND THE POLICE RANK AND FILE ISSUE.

If Cheshire thinks this HIPAA issue isn’t serious-IT IS. Here are the new increased fines for HIPAA VIOLATIONS.

I know how to solve both problems:

I am now directing the new Town Council to appoint me the new police chief IMMEDIATELY!!

Hey look, I run my own business. I have 75 employees. I know how to manage. So, what is the problem??

Ok, I don’t have a lot of police experience but I am a fast learner. Besides, I WOULD START AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCALE AT A ENTRY LEVEL PATROLMAN (WOMAN) SALARY. I WOULD WEAR THE BLUE UNIFORM COMPLETE WITH THE HAT THAT I NEVER SEE OUR COPS WEARING. I WOULD GO OUT ON PATROL ON ALL THE SHIFTS AND MY DOOR WOULD ALWAYS BE OPEN.

It might be interesting having a civilian police chief. I wonder if this was ever done before.  At least you know I am honest and say what I have to say right to your face so communications WON’T BE AN ISSUE NOW WILL IT!!

Well as far as having a civilian police chief, I remember First Selectwoman of Redding, Ct. Mary Ann Guitar used to “patrol” Redding in her own vehicle. They have a Resident State Trooper.

But apparently in Plainfield, New Jersey, they have something very close to a civilian police chief.

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT. I’M READY. ARE YOU??

Now, I do want to thank Robbie for his/her comment regarding the passing on the right statute. I WAS incorrect, SEE I ADMIT WHEN I AM WRONG-this is the only the second time in my entire life I have been incorrect so I am entitled.

A motorist in Connecticut CAN pass on the right but only under certain restrictions. Here is the State Statute:

Sec. 14-233. Passing on right. The driver of a vehicle may overtake and pass upon the right of another vehicle only when conditions permit such movement in safety and under the following conditions: (1) When the vehicle overtaken is making or has signified the intention to make a left turn; (2) when lines of vehicles traveling in the same direction in adjoining traffic lanes have come to a stop or have reduced their speed; (3) upon a one-way street free from obstructions and of sufficient width for two or more lines of moving vehicles; (4) upon a limited access highway or parkway free from obstructions with three or more lanes provided for traffic in one direction. Such movement shall not be made by driving off the pavement or main-traveled portion of the highway except where lane designations, signs, signals or markings provide for such movement. Violation of any provision of this section shall be an infraction.

But, in all honesty, I don’t think this applied or applies to the Boston Post Road. It is NOT a limited access highway and I think it is two lanes in both directions, there might be a third lane for turning into a business but not on a continual basis. Besides the police officer (if you read the affadavit) was traveling 95 MILES PER HOUR!!

Now the other car that was struck and the two occupants killed, MAY have been intoxicated which is not right either. So I think the WVIT reporter IN THIS SITUATION was correct in stating in her article that the officer should NOT HAVE BEEN PASSING ON THE RIGHT!!

I never pass on the right. And I get really annoyed at that situation near the Town Hall and Congregational Church in Cheshire where it is two lanes and then goes down to one. I am constantly playing footsy with the people WHO GET IN THE LEFT LANE AND THEN DON’T PASS THEN TRY TO PULL BACK INTO THE RIGHT LANE. I CONSTANLY BLOCK BOTH LANES SO THEY CAN’T GET BY ME TO TRY TO AVOID GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT FROM A PANICKY MOTORIST THAT HAS TO GET OVER TO THE RIGHT.

I wish the state would put arrows there or a sign saying: “Left lane MUST turn left” or something. I have noticed from time to time the police sitting in the Congregational Church circle WAITING PROBABLY for SOMEONE TO PASS ON THE RIGHT.

So guess what, you CAN’T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. It’s okay to pass on the right but then you get a ticket for doing so.

Well, to end for the day, my spouse is reporting that if left unchecked: the U.S. Unemployment figure for the year 2012 will be 15 percent.

But we don’t have to worry because according to the Mayan calendar, the world will be coming to an end by then.

GOODBYE.
